About this property

With a beautiful décor and contemporary features, Ridge is perfect for that special escape just for twoWith a beautiful décor and contemporary features, Ridge is perfect for that special escape just for two

Every inch the stylish couples’ retreat, Ridge is a contemporary bungalow with little touches of luxury throughout – perfect for that special escape. Designed with indulgence in mind, the open plan living, kitchen and dining area open out onto the raised terrace, so you can enjoy quiet evenings on the sofa and lazy days enjoying the patio.

A peaceful spot to sit back and enjoy a glass of bubbly, the terrace even has Kensington astro turf – and it feels just like grass when you step outside barefoot.

Back inside, wooden flooring throughout gives the property an elegant feel, and you’ll be able to connect your iPhone to the ceiling-mounted speakers and enjoy your favourite playlist while you unwind. The bedroom’s home to a super king size bed, and the en suite bathroom has underfloor heating, a digital remote radio with ceiling speakers and a bath with a rain shower over…see, they’ve thought of everything.

Set in a peaceful area of Dartmouth, Ridge is within easy reach of the town and its many attractions. Just a short (downhill) walk or ten minutes or so, the route into Dartmouth will take you past the famous ‘Browns Steps’ (often the winner in the annual Dartmouth Floral competition) and directly into the main cobbled shopping street. Getting back, there is a regular bus service from the town centre which makes it easy to enjoy the nightlife too.

With cobbled streets lined with historic buildings, Dartmouth sits on the banks of the river Dart, and it offers something for everyone all year round. Summer sees the Dartmouth Royal Regatta attract visitors in their thousands to enjoy air displays, sailing and fireworks that light the entire valley. For the foodies, the local restaurants serve up fresh, local seafood with gusto, and you’ll find attractions such as Agatha Christie’s Greenway and the Dartmouth Steam Railway just a ferry ride away ion the other side of the Dart.

...As only one other was occupied at the time of our stay it felt quite private. Walk into town only takes 10 mins however be aware that the walk back is uphill. Dartmouth is a great base to get out and about. Would recommend taking the steam train to Greenway and make sure you see Coleton Fishacre. Totnes has a great feel but we found Brixham to be somewhat grim. Lydford Gorge was worthwhile but please be warned it's narrow, uneven, wet pathways at times feel quite dangerous. Had a lot of rain during our week but still enjoyed it. Found the Ridge to be comfortable and ideally positioned. Submitted by Annabelle on 12/06/2017
