The quiet village of Sedgwick is just 5 miles south of the market town of Kendal and 3 miles from the M6 making it an ideal base to explore the Lake District, Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales. Close by is the grounds of Sedgwick House which is home to a local cricket pitch and club house with bar, where they host cricket matches during the summer months to which spectators are warmly welcomed. Within a half hours drive Sizergh Castle and Gardens and Levens hall can be found, along with Lake Windermere where a cruise can take you to various towns along the way, hop off at Lakeside where you will find the Aquarium by the Lake and the Steam railway, which will entertain all of the family.
Georgian Cottage is a traditional semi detached cottage located a stone’s throw away from the Village hall and millennium playing field where children can play and have fun to their hearts content. The charming cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard provides everything you need to enjoy the freedom of a self-catering holiday. For those who wish to relax on a warm summers evening, the south facing decked patio area is ideal for dining alfresco and enjoying a glass of wine. A little gem of a find, and not so little at that! Much more spacious inside than the exterior suggests. Very tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. We felt as though we were staying in a new house and loved being there. We will definitely return. If we could make one suggestion, it would be a two pin socket to plug in electric toothbrush or razor. Other than that, totally faultless! Thank you!
