What our customers say about their holidays

    • Janet - Verified booking

Overall we were disappointed by the quality of the decor having invested significantly to hire the property.

Whilst clean throughout it appeared that little work has been done to keep the property to the standard of the initial build, which must have been excellent. Our view is that it requires some TLC to bring it back to the original level. Specifics which we noticed include: Very poor quality and unsafe garden furniture and not enough for us all to sit out Bigger patio area would help Broken coat stand hooks Lack of standard equipment in the kitchen eg potato peeler, cheese grater, wooden spoons - helpful for non stick pans. Non slip mats required in the kitchen and hallway. Carpets in dining room, stairwell and landing would benefit from being cleaned. Hand shower in the bathroom not working correctly. Right hand side window frame in the games room is split. Headboard in the double bedroom on the left is wobbly. The location was great for visiting the area. The weather was good and enabled us to visit many attractions that the area has to offer. It was sufficiently near to the village centre to be able to walk in and our grandson enjoyed the playground just down the road. By no means was this a bad rental, but all of the above did cause us to be disappointed.

    • Mr H, Manchester - Verified booking

Bourton rightly attracts many visitors who enjoys its beautiful stream, open green spaces, museums and cafés, shops and ice cream outlets. On busy days it can be quite hectic but adorable nonetheless. To be able to retreat from this via a short walk along the Windrush to this property was delightful. Spacious and well-equipped it easily accommodated our family get-together of 10 persons. At no time did we feel cramped. The kitchen-dining room and lounge were enormous. We cooked dinner there twice using the oven and hob without any difficulty and were also able to lunch outside twice at the tables provided and to sit on the spacious lawn in this quiet oasis. One of us brought a dog who had a large area to explore. We did long circular walks north up to the Slaughters and also south to Little Rissington. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Mousetrap pub; do book! Thoroughly recommend this. We ‘book-ended’ this long weekend with walks at Sezincote and Blenheim. In short, this property was perfect for us. It also provided parking for five cars.

It's a great location to meet up with friends from all over the country. Bourton is a nice sized large village and is a pleasant place to wander round. The house is really close to the centre. The house has the perfect kitchen for a large group to hang out together. (We tend to stay in and cook as a group which works well but there are plenty of places within walking distance if you want to eat out.) Plus the lounge is a great size and has a lovely wood burner for when it's chilly. Bedroom to bathroom ratio is good and all is clean and comfy. We've been three years on the trot for our annual reunion and it is perfect for our needs. Parking slightly limited if you are lots of individuals arriving separately but we always manage! Highly recommend this venue.

Booked Millstone Cottage for the week for our Sons 40th Birthday so as we could all get together from all points of the compass. It could not have been better. The facilities are all top notch with everything that you could want provided. The property is nicely furnished and everybody remarked how well they slept with comfortable beds in all the bedrooms. The welcome pack was a really nice touch and certainly exceeded our expectations. We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending the property or indeed hesitate to rebook if available at some time in the future. The location is superb being only a 5 minute walk into Bourton on The Water mitigating all the parking issues around the centre of town.
