You are welcomed by a large reception hall, providing space for coats and muddy boots, with a convenient cloakroom to your right to have a quick rinse of your hands before entering into the spacious and characterful open-plan living/dining room, the perfect space to relax with your loved ones with the warmth from the woodburning stove warming you on a cold evening, whilst you catch up on your favourite TV show, or enjoying your home-cooked meal at the large wooden dining table.

In the heart of the home, you will find the lovely country-style kitchen which has everything you will require to cook up a delicious meal, with the heal from the dual fuel AGA and six ring gas hob, as well as having a handy breakfast bar with seating for four guests.

A large utility room provides space for storage and is well-equipped with a washing machine and additional sink.

Complete with flagstone flooring, woodburning stove and bi-fold doors opening up to the welcoming garden, is the sitting room, where you can relax on the inviting L-shaped sofa and watch a DVD on the Smart TV.

When sleep calls, head to one of the five homely bedrooms to get some rest before the days ahead; adjacent to the living/dining room is the fifth of the bedrooms containing twin beds, head up to the first floor, through the tasteful galleried landing, where you will find the master bedroom, a large room containing a king-size bed, fitted wardrobes, a large TV and benefitting from a walk-in shower room, the second bedroom has lovely exposed beams and contains a welcoming king-size sleigh bed and the third bedroom with alluring oak beams and vaulted ceiling contains twin beds.

Why not unwind in the bath and indulge in the bubbles in the bathroom, which completes the first floor?

A second set of stairs leads up from the sitting room to the fourth bedroom which is spacious and bright and contains a king-size bed, a single bed, and the option of a additional pull-out single bed (on request), this room has an en-suite walk-in shower room.

In the morning, head down to the garden to relish in the fresh country air, where you are greeted by beautiful Cotswold stone walls, a large table and a little lawn area with a raised covered fish pond, decorated with pretty stone statues to the rear.

If you can tear yourself away from the delightful Grey Gables Barn, a short stroll from your front door you will find a wealth of attractions and shops, such as The Cotswold Pottery where you can find handmade pottery and The Model Village which is a Grade ll listed, one-ninth scale model of the village itself, which is a fun visit for all the family. Bourton-on-the-Water is regarded the “Venice of the Cotswolds” as the River Windrush runs through the village and has lovely low bridges; the water is shallow enough in areas for you to dip your toes in warmer months! If you want to surround yourself with natural beauty, head to Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve which is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, this reserve is open to public all year round and is not to be missed.

Nearby Lower Slaughter is widely regarded as one of England's most beautiful villages and is home to The Slaughters Country Inn which is a well-regarded, quintessential country inn, offering lovely food and drinks, or head to Stow-on-the-Wold which is the highest of the Cotswold villages and is a small market town with an array of boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; why not revel in the scrumptious tea and cakes at The Old Bakery Tea Room!? Slightly further afield is Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park in Burford, known as Southern “gateway to the Cotswolds”.

For an unforgettable trip, stay at Grey Gables Barn.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antiques shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Also take a visit to the medieval town of Burford for a great day out where you can enjoy a trip to the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are both within easy reach and make a great day out. The spa town of Cheltenham is, architecturally, the most complete Regency town in England with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called The City of Dreaming Spires has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also all within easy reach.
