About this property

Jenny’s Cottage is semi-detached and is the oldest cottage on the farm; dating from around the 17th century. The lintle of the inglenook fireplace that dominates the lounge/diner is made from a ships timber probably brought up from the beach below, as part of a wreck. This wild coast is abundant with shipwrecks, hidden coves and folklore around smuggling. With beamed ceilings this little cottage has all the amenities that is needed for a comfortable stay. The small galley kitchen with cream painted units and tiled floor is alongside the bathroom with over bath shower, sink and toilet. The lounge/diner has comfortable seating in which you can sit before the wood-burner style electric stove or watch the TV/DVD player. The first floor bedroom with its white painted exposed granite walls and beamed ceiling is accessed by a small staircase from the lounge. The windows have views to the sea and Penwith moors. The light airy room has a double bed and plenty of space to sit if you wish to take advantage of the sea view. The garden has a lawned area and patio, as well as parking. There is a bench for sitting with your glass of wine on a summer evening and the patio has a picnic table. Pendeen is a former mining village, with pubs a store or to take an open topped bus to Lands End or St. Ives. A walk along the country lane towards the lighthouse you can pick up the SW Coastal Footpath which will take you to Lands End or St. Ives enjoying spectacular scenery, sea birds or seals either way, to the right of the lighthouse is Boat Cove which the fishermen use in the summer. Further again is Portheras Cove.

Pendeen is a village in northwest Cornwall, home to a choice of pubs and shops, while acting as an excellent base for exploring this tremendous area. The South West Coast Path is abundant in natural beauty, while also leading towards superb tourist spots including St Just, Sennen Cove and more.
