A beautiful, modern three-storey cottage in the heart of the village of Port Isaac, with stunning views across the harbour, Jackdaws is perfect for a small family or couples looking for a romantic hideaway.
With accommodation set over three floors, enter into the cosy sitting room on the ground floor from the pretty stone patio at the front of the cottage. This room is delightful with white washed stone walls and comfy sofas, it is easy to imagine cosying up in here in the evening with a glass of wine and a good film. The oak and glass spiral staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find a comfortable double bedroom with views across the village, next to which is a compact bunk bedroom, perfect for the little ones. Adjacent is a modern shower room with corner shower. And tucked just off the stairwell is a useful small utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and cloakroom/WC.
Climb the spiral stairs once again to the second floor where the room opens out into an open-plan second sitting room, with a modern fitted kitchen area and dining table with seating for four guests. The ceilings here are vaulted with the original beams creating a light and airy space, decorated with modern art and a fabulous view towards the harbour and out to sea.
A door from the kitchen area leads out onto the rear decked patio with glass balconies and views across the rooftops to the harbour, with a flight of wooden steps leading you up to a higher level of decking which has a barbecue, seating area and even more amazing views. This is the perfect spot for some alfresco cooking whilst enjoying a beautiful sunset.
Idyllically situated in the centre of this popular and charming village, Port Isaac has deservedly found fame from the popular television series 'Doc Martin’ and by the iconic 'Fisherman’s Friends' folk group. Jackdaws is a fabulous, well-equipped cottage, perfect for summer holidays with the children, relaxing weekends away and romantic escapes for couples.

The cottage was an interesting conversion with lovely views and very well equipped (but the staircase is very steep!). However this doesn’t make up for all of the downsides which don’t reflect well on the owners or Rural Retreats monitoring. The parking slot was always blocked whether we used the cone or not and the design of the car park is ludicrous, the key box is in an awkward position and faulty, there was no proper welcome pack or the promised toiletries. Worst of all: stained bed linen and a cottage contact who doesn’t respond to messages. We later discovered that the property is for sale so I think the owners have just given up.
