Daisy's Holiday Cottage in Skipton is highly praised for its superb central location, private parking, and cosy, well-equipped interior. Guests consistently mention the property’s cleanliness and peaceful setting, making it an ideal base for exploring Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. While the cottage is comfortable and charming, several guests note that the bathroom, particularly the bath and shower arrangement, could be improved for practicality. Overall, the cottage offers a delightful stay with thoughtful touches and excellent access to local amenities.
The majority of guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well maintained, with only very rare minor comments about specific items needing attention.
The location is universally praised, being just steps from Skipton’s high street yet quiet and peaceful, with the added bonus of private parking.
Guests found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, though some mentioned the bathroom layout and seating could be improved for greater comfort.
The cottage is well equipped for self-catering and daily needs, but several reviews highlight issues with the bath/shower, storage, and minor maintenance such as light bulbs and door fittings.
Some guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as milk, biscuits, and festive decorations, but please note these are not guaranteed for every stay.
A stone-built terraced cottage, in a quiet courtyard setting less than a minute's walk from Skipton's historic High Street. The cottage is full of character and charm throughout and provides a perfect romantic holiday retreat in this ever popular market town, known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The ground floor is an open-plan design with a cosy sitting area, a dining area and a bespoke fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar and access to the front yard with a sitting area. The main bathroom provides a real wow factor with a claw footed bath as the centre piece of the room.
The adjoining spacious bedroom boasts a super king-size bed and pretty furnishings to complete the appeal of this lovely holiday home. To the outside is a front patio with a sitting area, which is an ideal place to relax after a busy day exploring the area. Skipton provides a real treat with a medieval castle, canal boat trips, swimming pool, golf course, excellent cycling routes, tennis courts and a myriad of walks including easy rambles and challenging fell walks within close proximity of the town. The award-winning High Street is a very short walk and boasts a wide selection of restaurants, tea rooms and coffee shops, award-winning fish and chip shops, whilst the traditional market sells fresh produce throughout the year including local cheeses, fish, meats and fresh vegetables.
Enjoy moorland walks at Bolton Abbey, the mouth-watering farmers' market at Grassington or visit elegant Harrogate, all of which are within easy reach. Daisy's Holiday Cottage is an ideal retreat whatever the time of year you visit.
Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, and a colourful market occupying the cobbled streets each side of the high street. In 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain.

It was warm and comfortable with everything you could need. So handy for all the shops and cafes and easy to get to everywhere without transport.

The bed is really comfortable. However there are several things that would improve the comfort of the stay. There are several light bulbs that need replacing in the kitchen, landing and bathroom. The shelves in the kitchen were too high for us to reach comfortably. The cold tap on the washbasin in the bathroom turns round when itâs turned off. Sofa and chair in the living area could do with sprucing up. There is a shortage of useable power sockets in the living room. Itâs a shame about all the artificial flowers in the house, just a few fresh ones would be much nicer. The bath/shower is difficult and uncomfortable to use. A proper overhead shower and shower screen is needed.
