    About this property

Set in peaceful, leafy lanes, one mile from the picturesque village of Stokeinteignhead with its famous gastro pub and community run shop is Stable End. Dating back to 1850, the cottage was originally an agricultural stable which has now been beautifully converted into stylish holiday accommodation. The cottage is light, airy and filled with thoughtful touches. On the ground floor, you'll find a cosy living room with wood burning stove and handsome beamed ceilings. There is a smart, country style kitchen/diner and utility room with all mod cons. On the first floor are two very pretty bedrooms, a large double with a lovely outlook over a nearby babbling brook and an en-suite bathroom and a twin bedded room with en-suite shower room. To the front of the cottage is your own sunny, enclosed garden with private parking. Here you can while away the warm summer evenings surrounded by the gentle sounds of the surrounding countryside.

Stokeinteignhead is a village in a valley near the south Devon coast. Filled with thatched cottages, the narrow streets house a pub, a shop, school and church. Nearby, Shaldon is a fishing village at the mouth of the River Teign, known for its cockles, mussels and salmon. With cottages, individual shops and narrow streets with cafés, Shaldon isa place to relax by the sea. Children love the beaches through Smuggler’s Tunnel, and adults and children will enjoy the botanical gardens and zoo, followed by a Devon cream tea. The Ness headland rises above the estuary, guarding the waters between Shaldon and Teignmouth, offering stunning views.

" Central location for coast and Dartmoor. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Second visit here "
    Mr Simmons, September 2019 ‐ 1 Sep 2019
" We had everything we could need and all was in very good order. "
    Mr Wilcox ‐ 1 Sep 2019
" The nearby pub, Church House Inn at Stokeinteignhead, served us a delicious Sunday lunch. We were able to visit many local attractions, all easy to reach, including Bygones and Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay, Teignmouth, NT properties at Coleton Fishacre and Castle Drogo, South Devon Railway and very close Plant World Gardens. The property was so lovely we didn't want to leave. Just before we did leave the owners turned up to prepare the cottage so we were able to have a chat and tell them how much we loved the cottage and the places we visited. A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable visit. We hope to return at a later date. "
    Mrs Colbeck ‐ 1 May 2019
" Beautifully laid out with every bit of equipment you could possibly need. Plenty of instructions to guide you through the facilities. Spacious, clean and a lovely welcome pack. Would highly recommend it. "
    Mr Potter, April 2019 ‐ 1 Apr 2019
" This was the 2nd time we had stayed at Stable end and again it met all expectations although it is now showing signs of needing a little bit of Upkeep "
    Mrs Robinson ‐ 1 Oct 2018
" We did experience a fault on the boiler but the owner travelled some distance on a Sunday evening to try and sort it out. He was unable to rectify the fault, brought electric heaters with him and arranged for an engineer to visit the following morning. We went out for the day and when we returned the boiler had been repaired. First class service. "
    Mrs Walters ‐ 1 Aug 2018
" We will definitely stay again. This has been our first experience booking through , the whole process was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. We will be sure to book through again. "
    Mrs Humphries, May 2018 ‐ 1 May 2018
" Ideally situated for great days out. "
    Mrs Dickinson ‐ 1 Apr 2018
" Cottage has everything to make a truly memorable holiday. Easy access to many interesting places. South Devon Steam Railway worth a trip with ample time to explore Totnes. Wonderful walking country, many walks incorporating beautiful villages with thatched cottages. Can really recommend Stable End Cottage. "

"Lovely cottage very well furnished and equipped."

"We had a really great holiday at Stable End, the cottage was lovely, a real home away from home. We will definitely stay again. This has been our first experience booking through , the whole process was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. We will be sure to book through again."
    - Mrs Kelly, July 2018
"We were not happy with the rather long list of things that our dog could not do, some of which we understand (no dogs on furniture) but others were ridiculous (Not allowed to wee in the garden) If this list had been shown at the time of booking we would not have booked to stay here. The owners need to be more transparent and show this list of ‘rules’ on their booking page. We won’t be returning. We had to pay £30 extra to take our dog then spent the whole week worrying about him doing something on the list. I would suggest they don’t advertise that pets are allowed. The pet bed they provided which was only to be used in the tiny barely ventilated utility room was unfortunately very dirty. The cottage itself was really lovely, clean and very well equipped, just not pet friendly and therefore should not be advertised as such."
    - Mrs Duffield, August 2018
"We have rented this cottage over a number of years (through a different company) so it totally met with our expectations."

"Excellent cottage as soon as you enter u can tell a lot of effort has been put into making it very homely , if there was a complaint we couldn’t find it,would definitely use again"
