A supermarket and restaurants are on offer at Seahouses a little over a mile away, and from this popular seaside town you can also hop aboard a boat trip from the harbour to the spectacular Farne Islands for some wonderful bird watching opportunities. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its castle and gardens are also within easy reach of Beadnell.

However the complementary wine in the fridge had previously been opened and was half drunk, probably by a previous occupant. Obviously a housekeeping oversight but a bit of a disappointment. Nevertheless we have booked again for next year.

This visit we found the general house keeping was a bit lacking, also oven and extractor fan above hob in kitchen need a good cleaning in the toilet the ceiling was covered in mould also some mould on tiles inside shower this could be due to noisy inefficient extractor fan the toilet seat is an accident waiting to happen and needs changed .I under stand it is end of season but this is no excuse for poor maintenance.

We did have problems with the toilet seat but after a call to the owner this was dealt with. The wash basin in the bathroom did not hold the water so you had to keep topping it up to wash and shave. Not very impressed with the heating system. Lots of people walking past and around and looking in.
