"We have stayed in many rental properties but this tops the lot. The care which has been taken in building this is second to none everything thought out with care just as you would in your own home. My wife and I liked the fact there were security gates having just bought a new car, plus plenty of parking. The owner lived next door but was not obtrusive far from it having been told if we needed him day or night just contact him. The views were spectacular as too were his gardens beautifully kept. The property was only 5 miles from Canterbury and we recommend you use the park and ride £3 all day far cheaper than in town. Go for a row boat tour in town very informative about the towns history afterwards have a meal next door the roast to die for. We also visited the RAF museum interesting so many died so young. The Anchor Inn in Wingham is superb for food ate there many times advisable to book though very popular and reasonable. We had a lovely day on the Dimchurch railway going from Hythe to Dungeness well worth a visit. Finally we hope to go back to the property next Summer to be able to visit gardens and we hope after this review it won't be all booked up."

"I chose this site because of what it had to offer, however the owner did inform me just before my holiday started that the swimming pool would not be in use due to work needed on it, This was a great disappointment to me as I would have used it every day, and it was to late to book another holiday, Mr Marsh has returned £56 as compensation. I understand that the pool has been out of action since last year and not likely to be in action this year, as the work needed on it would be costly. Many other things at Kingsdown holiday park where closed the lounge bar was also closed, so no meals or takeaways or drinks, this has also been close since last year. The reception was closed most of the time, and a notice was put on the door to say that it would be closed on 16th 17th & 18th June and this proved to be much longer and we could not get the equipment for the crazy golf, or book up a time for the tennis court. However the little Scandinavian cabin was very comfortable had all we needed, it has been well maintained and had a good view of the grounds and sea. I feel that this was once a good and thriving camp site, but at the moment it is dead."

"We all had a super relaxing holiday, it is really a very unspoilt place, and very simple in its approach. A good base to visit other areas in Kent. The lodge is spacious and had everything you could possibly need and the owners have made it as comfortable and stylish as possible. Lovely to hear the sea constantly and see France in the distance. We even saw a badger and fox in the evening. Towards the end of our week it was only spoilt by groups of children wandering the site in the evening. I would comment that the Sykes details listed a DVD player and there was none. It would also be helpful to list there is no site shop. No space to mention yourselves Sykes... so.... I have been greatly impressed by your very helpful, polite service. All calls I made were always meet with great professional manner. In all it has been great to find and use you for the first time, I will always recommend you and would happily use your service again. In todays world customer service is often missing but you have heaps of it!! Thank you all at Sykes."

"This was a lovely little Scandinavian style cabin in a fantastic location, on a site with many other cabins some also privately owned others owned by the site Kingsdown place. So we were able to enjoy the facilities like crazy golf (didn't use the pool, was warm enough to swim in the sea!) and 3 very nearby pubs serving excellent food! The sea is 5mins walk away and it is a lovely one hour's walk down the coastline to neighbouring town Deal. The locals are very friendly and the castles close by are definitely worth a visit. Cabin itself was lovely with all facilities provided including tea coffee and a pint of milk. Only minor issue was having to text the owner on the day we arrived as he hadn't informed us in advance of where the cabin was on site, which number it was, (reception didn't know) or the code to get in! For future reference it's number 40, Summer Place!"

"I've been staying in cottages for many years and Claire's Cottage is my favourite so far. Despite being tiny it is light, comfortable, cosy and very well equipped with a pretty garden. It has been restored beautifully retaining nearly all the original and historic features and it's interesting to look at the album showing photos of the restoration. The location is excellent. You can walk into Hythe (if you have the energy to walk back up the hill) which is a historic little town of great character and there are plenty of interesting places to see in the Romney Marshes without having to go far. If you have a wet day use it to go to Dungeness on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway! I have already recommended this cottage to a friend and I am sure I shall visit it again in the future."
