Guests say

Kits Cottage in Hythe is highly praised for its stunning views, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, comfortable accommodation, and the property's proximity to local amenities and attractions. The cottage's charm and the owners' responsiveness add to a delightful stay, although some minor issues with parking and door locks are noted.

Guests consistently mention that the cottage is immaculately clean, with several reviews highlighting the high standards of cleanliness. The property's tidiness contributes significantly to the comfort of the stay.

The location is frequently commended for its spectacular views and proximity to Hythe's town centre, beach, and local walks. The ease of access to nearby attractions and public transport is also appreciated, although parking competition is occasionally mentioned.

Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. The well-equipped kitchen and the presence of a wet room shower are particularly noted, although there is a mention of the property being more suited to taller individuals.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and having modern amenities. However, some guests experienced difficulties with door locks and mentioned limited kitchen workspace, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful gifts and extras provided upon arrival, which are seen as a warm welcome. It is important to note that while these gestures are greatly appreciated, they are a courtesy and may not be a consistent feature for all guests.

The downstairs is lovely, cosy and comfortable; though due to lack of worksurface the kitchen is not too great for proper cooking - Hythe has masses of good food options but for health reasons we can't use these. The upstairs is also rather well done. And the shower room practical. The whole place is set up for tall people and we struggled to reach cupboards, hanging rails etc. Overall the cottage is very nice and the views spectacular. The description of the cottage is clear about the steep steps to access the property and to the garden - they mean this! If you have mobility issues you will struggle. The garden is terraced with a gate to a public footpath. And though fully enclosed it is not secure as our dog demonstrated.I There is plenty of parking but also plenty of competition for it, this can be interesting for loading. We enjoyed lovely walks along the canal (bar the odour of cannabis), the local swimming pool is a well maintained snapshot of retro seaside and the local independent coffee shops (Mit Milch particularly) and "weigh and save" are great. Just watch out for the speeding mobility scooters on the high street.

Great location for a wander down to Hythe town, we also visited Dover Castle & Rye. Highly recommend this well located property, it certainly ticked all of our boxes. We will be back. Thank you for the biscuits & wine. Gaynor x
