What our customers say about their holidays

    • Lucy - Verified booking

Beautifully clean cottage really close to Stratford Upon Avon town centre, railway station, shops and attractions.

The owners had left a wonderful welcome package of food and drinks for us that we enjoyed during our stay. The kitchen was very well equipped with coffee making and cooking facilities, plentiful crockery and dishwasher. The heating was easy to control. The parking permit enabled us to park close-by when spaces were available (we found a space within 150m each time we needed one). Our eldest was glad of the good quality Wi-Fi and our youngest enjoyed playing one of the board games (it has been added to the Christmas list!) 25 Shakespeare Street was the ideal base for visiting the children's Grandma. We spent 2 days doing odd jobs and gardening for her, so were glad of this peaceful & comfortable cottage to return to in the evenings. We also enjoyed a visit to Stratford M.A.D. museum (Mechanical Art & Design), Cadbury World in Bournville (by train), and some geocaching around the town. Thank you.

This little house is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of the town centre.

On arrival we immediately felt welcome because of the thoughtful touches the owners had made prior to our arrival. After a particularly horrendous journey they were all the more appreciated. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the entire house was beautifully clean. I had some contact with the owners prior to our stay, and they were very friendly and helpful. As I have fibromyalgia I did find the bed a little too hard for me, but my daughters slept well so this is probably unique to me. All in all it was a wonderful stay. Be very careful with the parking though - despite the instructions I still managed to get landed with a parking ticket on the first night. We are looking forward to booking again in the future. 25 Shakespeare Street now feels like a "home from home".

The property was so convenient for accessing Stratford upon Avon!

We only used the car once. It was so lovely to just saunter into the town whenever we felt like it. The property was spotless including the toilets/bathroom, something that is very high up my list of priorities. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere cleaner. For a small property it is very well equipped. It would be nice to have had another couple of chopping boards and a big serving spoon in the kitchen, but really that was all I noticed and most people probably eat out more than us anyway. All the utensils, cutlery, crockery was clean and seemingly new (I loved the mugs!). It's a compact property but it's been done with thought and taste. I'd definitely stay there again if I were visiting Stratford upon Avon again.

There was ample space for three adults.

The amenities were nice, and we appreciate and enjoy that the owners left for us as guests. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we were able to prepare several meals for dine-in. The location in Stratford-Upon-Avon is top notch. A short walk of a couple blocks took us in the city centre or train station. We did not regret being car-less. There is a mustiness in the downstairs family room, so allergy sufferers should be prepared. (I wore a mask). It was warm that week without fans, and traffic and neighbor noise during the evenings can be distracting. Overall, though, most tourists will enjoy their experience here, and we recommend this property with just a few cautions.

We had a wonderful time at 25 Shakespeare St.

The cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Alan and Moira had provided some essentials such as bread and tea bags, also luxury extras such as wine and chocolate. There were games and books for us to use and my children especially loved playing Bananagrams. The location is excellent with just a short walk to Stratford town centre and Waterside, allowing easy access to Shakespeare's birthplace, boat trips, shops and restaurants. There is no off road parking but a parking permit is provided. Alan communicated well beforehand to ensure that we understood how to use it. My family and I enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.
