What our customers say about their holidays

    • Audrey - Verified booking

We had a lovely holiday in Wales.

The cottage was a good base for sightseeing and Dyserth itself a lovely little village with plenty of history and amenities. The cottage itself is right next to the waterfall for which Dyserth is famous. The cottage was as expected internally, clean and comfortable with everything needed for our stay. A delicious cake was left for us by the owner to welcome us. The negative aspect is that although pets are welcome the external area of the cottage is not suitable for dogs. There is no garden to speak of and what there is is open with a four foot drop to the road and a dog cannot be let out on its own. Our dog is small and elderly but does like to potter outside herself. There was no way we could allow this as she would have either jumped off the wall or wandered off. As the cottage is next to a busy road (which did not detract from our stay, by the way) the outcome might not be good. I feel this should be mentioned as holiday cottages accepting dogs are not always easy to find and I admit I was disappointed about the lack of garden. I should have asked about it before booking. Having said all of this I would recommend the cottage itself as an ideal holiday base.

This is a loverly cottage in a great rural location with the added bonus of an enclosed garden for our dog to sit out and enjoy.

The property is only a quick drive away from the main town for all your shopping needs and close to the main highways so you don’t have to travel that far to get going when you want venture out and about. There are also some lovely walks you can take straight from your doorstep which was very handy. We had a couple of minor gripes - the water pressure in the main bathroom was not the greatest and some work is required in regard to the wash basin taps as they were loose and moved when you turned them on and off. The other main issue was the WiFi, it was very good in the kitchen, and in the up stairs bedroom (directly above the kitchen) but awful on the other side of the house where the main front room and TV is located. I would recommend to the owner to install some WiFi boosters around the house as this would definitely help. Overall though our stay was great and we would definitely stay again in the future.

The house was lovely, very clean and well equipped.

It was a fantastic size and suited myself, mum and 4 year old perfectly. The garden was a nice size and secure for our two miniature dachshunds. When we first entered the house you could tell the heating had been on, it was lovely and warm and really hit you. The heating didn't come back on though, we tried to override it as per the instructions but nothing worked. It did get a bit cool in the evenings but there was 2 plug in heaters that kept us warm. Some clearer instructions on how to reach the house would be great, my sat nav sent me up a residential street which then went into a very narrow and steep lane before announcing we'd reached our destination. However, the owner was a phone call away and once we'd be guided onto the correct road, the house is very easy to find! All in all, a lovely stay, we was very lucky with the weather and spent our few days in October on the beach!! Thank you!

This was our first experience of hiring a cottage and wasn't sure what to expect .

Excellent communication with the owner throughout and nothing was too much trouble . The cottage was in a beautiful village and location . The interior exceeded all our expectations . Every room was beautifully decorated ,spotlessly clean and fully equipped . We cooked our meals in the week and there was more than enough equipment for all our needs - a real home from home . Every thing you might need had been considered and was there and you were encouraged to help yourself . The welcome also included beautiful fresh flowers and really yummy cakes - both gratefully appreciated . There was also a good selection of books and games which we made good use of . Instantly felt comfortable and and at home . We loved every minute there , thank you Debbie for a wonderful holiday and an outstanding experience .

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for 7 weeks from January to March and loved every minute of it.

The cottage is so clean, cosy and well equipped. The bed is huge and very comfortable, the bath is amazing, decor is beautiful and the coffee machine what more can I say delicious. The location is great waking up to see the changes in the waterfalls during the stormy weather from a nice clear flow to a muddy torrent. The owner was lovely we had no problems at all during our stay arrival and departure arrangements were great with a welcoming touch of a yummy lemon drizzle cake (my favourite). As much as we were looking forward to going back to our holiday home it was sad to leave it really did feel like home from home. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we look forward to the next time.
