    Leominster Holiday Cottages

Leominster, an idyllic Herefordshire market town, sits right where the River Lugg and River Kenwood meet. It is known for its striking architecture, full of grand Georgian residences and black-beamed Tudor houses. One of the best examples, Grange Court, is open to the public. The town is surrounded by countryside and woodland - perfect for nature lovers and avid walkers. The scenic Riverside walk is a circular route, starting and finishing in the town centre at the Corn Square. It is well-signposted and ideal for first-time visitors.

Leominster enjoys a well-deserved reputation for its thriving antique scene, with dealers eager to introduce you to their treasures at The Antiques Market,Leominster Antiques Centre Minster House and the Second Hand Warehouse & Antiques Centre. Alternatively, indulge in more traditional retail therapy, with a range of independent shops selling everything from books and toys to vinyl and organic skincare.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jennifer - Verified booking

The property is lovely and comfortable.

The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The countryside is fabulous. It is really quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed the holiday. There are a couple of things that could be improved, however. Firstly, the cider vat looks great on the photos, but they are about 10 years old. Currently it is falling apart and mouldy. We could not sit in it. It would be better to get rid of it and put in some easy seating so you can sit looking over the sheep in the field. Particularly since that is the only view from the outside space. I do think the outside photos should be updated. I will put some on Google, as I can't put any on here. Things are rather more shabby now. For the sake of older and less agile visitors, a rail on at least one side of the outside steps would be helpful. Also non-slip mats and rails would be great in the showers. My mum was quite nervous, so had to buy a mat. The sink in the smaller en suite is so small that you can hardly clean your teeth. The mirror standing out over an inch doesn't help. Maybe something could be done. Also the beds were comfortable, but could do with mattress toppers as I could feel the springs. The smaller bedroom could also use more coat hooks or rails, as there was nowhere to hang dressing gowns or a second towel, as the towel rail isn't big enough. Please be advised to bring dish cloths and extra tea towels. Bring everything you need to cook because the only thing there is a table salt and pepper shaker. And if you want to use the dishwasher or washing machine, bring your own detergent. I always think that hosts should stay at their property for a night or two as if they were guests, bringing suitcases and cooking. That way they would see exactly what is needed. While these hosts try really hard, it would be good for them to try this, sleeping in the smaller room particularly. Overall this is a lovely property and we really enjoyed our stay. These things would just make it even better.

We arrived at The Cider House after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised with the location of the property and the well stocked house which had everything for your basic needs.

The welcome breakfast basket was very appreciated and filled with the farms local produce. A really warm and welcoming touch by our hosts who greeted us as we parked up as well as their two beautiful 10 month old collies. Alas our 8 yr old husky was not up for playing with them and preferred to laze away in the perfectly lawned and enclosed gardens. Once Trudie and Dominique had informed us of the farms workings and the nearby walks we were then left to enjoy our holiday but always on hand if anything was needed. As the weather for the week was very hot it was a relief to discover that the house kept relatively cool inside. It was nice to enjoy alfresco dining on the patio area as well. This is a working farm with sheep, stabled horses and farm machinery but noise levels were kept to a minimum and although a building extension was going on, again, the owners were very mindful of keeping noise to a minimum. The super king size bed was extremely comfortable and we slept really well all throughout our stay. The location was a good base to visit surrounding areas near and afar. We visited Tewksbury Abbey, shopped at Hereford with its majestic Cathedral and enjoyed the long walks around Symmonds Yat and Croft Castle Parklands. Broadway and Bourton on the Water are our favourite haunts for cream teas and gift shopping. We certainly recommend Cider House and are looking to return next year. A big thank you to Trudie and Dominique who couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. We wish them all the best in what seems to be a relatively new venture.

We have had a lovely week relaxing in a great location.

Easy to find and accessible to lots of nearby places. Trudie greeted us when we arrived and explained about different things. After that we knew if we needed anything where to go but were left to enjoy our holiday which was just great. Having two en-suite bathrooms made life very easy. Yes the second bedroom sink isn’t huge but it all worked for us. Plenty of storage space too. The kitchen was well equipped and the cooker worked well. It was also lovely and warm. The only thing we felt was the beds were very hard for us both. I know it’s so difficult to please everyone but I found sleeping quite difficult I think because I am used to the more modern mattress that seemed to suit most people not the sprung sort. That was the only thing I would change. Maybe it’s something to consider even if only one bedroom could be changed. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday. We hope to return again soon.

A bit of a Tardis, compact but surprisingly spacious inside for a couple.

Comfortably furnished to a high standard we spent a very pleasant week there in September. It is ideally placed to tour Herefordshire and Shropshire and the numerous National Trust properties there. Yarpole itself is a small, friendly community with the advantage of a small community store for last minute essentials and associated cafe that had excellent cakes. The local pub, just over the road, was unfortunately closed during our stay due to illness so we couldn't try that out. The host was perfect, he gave us a quick tour on our arrival and was helpful when we had a small issue (of our own making). There is limited outside space, which didn't worry us, the parking is directly outside the cottage and helped me practice my parallel parking, but did easily take my fairly large SUV. We would definitely stay there again if visiting in the area.

Great location in a vibrant village.

The accommodation was really comfortable so we were able to settle in very quickly. The owners were very thoughtful and had left us a gift of wine and chocolates. The coffee machine had coffee available to drink. The utensils and crockery were very good. The bedding and towels were excellent quality. The WiFi and TV all worked really well. The village shop and gallery cafe were brilliant and we were able to shop everyday there except Sunday. The cafe was outstanding for the menu but also the friendliness of the locals and voluntary staff. The church itself with its bell tower and the cemetery across the road is well worth a visit. We were able to walk to Croft Castle for a visit. We spent a very pleasant evening in The Bell for a meal and to listen to the folk musicians.
