    Ipswich Holiday Cottages

Famous for being one of England's oldest towns, dating back to the 8th century, Ipswich is steeped in history, hosting a diversity of buildings from evocative eras, including superb Tudor and Elizabethan structures. This is a town that is truly alive with character and nostalgia. Once graced by the likes of Charles Dickens and painter Thomas Gainsborough, we're certain that you too shall find pleasure in this beautiful town.

Taking a relaxing stroll down the atmospheric waterfront, you can enjoy the hustle and bustle that radiates from the popular bars and cafes. You may then go on to discover one of Suffolk’s most treasured buildings: the exquisite Tudor Christchurch Mansion, which holds one of the biggest collections of Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable paintings outside of London. Alternatively, you may enjoy submerging yourself in the natural wonders that can be found in Holywells Park, with its stunning trees and ponds extending over 28 hectares.

At Snaptrip, we'll help you find your dream property in the perfect location. With thousands of listings and partnering with the largest cottage providers in the UK, we feel confident that we'll be able to find what you're looking for. Got a question? What our customers say about their holidays

    • Paul - Verified booking

Tower End has a real wow factor on entrance that doesn’t stop as you take in all the areas within.

The private beautifully dressed outdoor patio area is stunning. We enjoyed the spacious yet cosines of the cottage as a couple with our big fluffy lurcher, Fozzie. We had enough space for his dog bed and found the entrance area so helpful for his towel rub down and paw cleans. The driveway is secure for allowing dogs to wander (if they don’t jump gates) and we parked our car in the ample space at the front of the cottage. The shower room and bathroom are luxury: super soft towels, toiletries and no need forgotten are a highlight of how much the owners want your stay to be pleasurable. They have equipped the kitchen with ample utensils for cooking and a choice of coffee machine/cafetière was a bonus. The bedroom has a hanging rail in the bathroom with ample drawers and cupboards for clothes. Sumptuously dressed bed with mattress topper and lovely choice of lighting; lamps and natural light. We would not hesitate to recommend or return to Tower End. It’s a true gem and located well for much exploration. Local hospitality is superb. We felt very welcome and found the community so friendly.

We cannot recommend this property highly enough. It was perfect in every respect: our annex was in pristine condition, with every possible comfort,it was extremely stylish and spacious .We particularly appreciated the snug for reading. There are fields all around with footpaths to explore and although the setting is tranquil ,there is easy access to a comprehensive road network to visit all the gorgeous villages that Suffolk has in abundance. We had lovely weather, but it was not quite hot enough to eat outside on our swish covered patio this time, but we were able to admire the wonderful ,huge garden. Finally our hosts Pauline and Chris were charming, friendly and helpful. We very much appreciated the fresh flowers, wine, snacks, milk and bottled water that awaited us on our arrival. A resounding 10/10 all round.Thank you.

This couldn't have been a more perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway in late winter! The cottage was incredibly cosy, particularly the log burner which had been lit prior to our arrival. The owners were extremely friendly, and took pains to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. The location itself is wonderful too - plenty of bracing winter walks along the coast and countryside, and some superb pubs nearby (can very highly recommend the Fox Inn at Newbourne). Though to be honest, we spent most our time in the snug playing board games, reading, and listening to music. We're hoping to find time in the summer to return, as the veranda and garden look like perfect spaces to while away a lazy afternoon. Couldn't recommend highly enough - this was a real find that we'll certainly be returning to!

We have not booked a holiday cottage for a November stay before, so it was wonderful, on arrival, to find warm, comfortable rooms and a very welcome basket of goodies. Oak Barn Annexe was very well equipped. The snug room provides music if required and a good mix of reading matter, including local books. The weather wasn’t quite warm enough for us to enjoy the garden and covered outdoor seating area. We plan to return in the summer months, to take advantage of this special quiet spot. We used the excellent bus service between Felixstowe and Ipswich, giving us the opportunity to walk and discover the area. The owners, could not have been more friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations of walks and places to eat. Thank you. We felt totally relaxed and comfortable.

Thank you Chris and Pauline for the most excellent stay. As soon as I opened the door I was welcomed by a roaring fire, a basket of goodies and milk n the fridge I knew I was onto a winner. What a stylish cosy cabin where i felt relaxed and at home. My only complaint was having to leave! Please can I come back?! Loved the little beach at the end of the footpath across the road. Parked at the national trust carpark at Tyson hill and walked into Woodbridge along the river Deben. A loop walk around Orford along the river Alde. Sutton Hoo. Fish and chips in Felixstowe and eaten at Landguard Point. Suffolk Food Hall by Orwell Bridge for great local food gifts and excellent coffee and cakes then drive down to Shotley Gate for another good view of the container port.
