    Holiday Cottages in Ceredigion

Once a minor kingdom, known historically as Cardiganshire, today Ceredigion includes several towns both inland and along the Cardigan Bay coast. The 60-mile stretch of Cardigan Bay coast sits along the Welsh Coastal Path, perfect to explore by foot. Dolphins are often spotted off Ceredigion’s beaches and if you want to get a closer look, there are many boat tour companies to choose from.

Further inland, take a short break in one of Ceredigion’s market towns, visit a woodland village or explore one of the few remote wilderness areas still in existence in the UK – the Cambrian Mountains. The primary settlements in Ceredigion lie around the edges of its wild moorland plateau with varied landscapes — spanning lakes, dense forests, wildlife havens and archaeological areas of interest.

Ceredigion holiday cottages have something for everyone, so no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here. Choose between woodland getaways, traditional seaside breaks or an active sporting holiday. With thousands of homes listed on Snaptrip throughout the UK, all backed by our best price guarantee, you're sure to find your next break. Need some help? What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sarah - Verified booking

We have just come home from a wonderful family holiday in the Stable.

We chose the Stable because of the fenced in garden for our twin toddler boys and our 2 dogs, we also loved the sound of the hot tub. It was perfect for us all. The garden was great, the boys loved riding their bikes up and down the slope, it was very safe and secure for our boys and dogs to have freedom to run and play. Inside the house was very tidy, it had everything we needed to make home cooked meals, comfortable beds, a lovely big bath and powerful shower. Other facilities… Our boys are too young for the games room, however, it looked like fun for if we come back for future holidays, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a massive bonus, we came home with no washing to do, ‘Happy Mummy!’ The boys loved the climbing frame and slide, it was perfect for them. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings, after putting the boys to bed, my husband and I enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with stunning views of rolling Welsh hills. We made friends with the cows in the field outside, the boys loved running out to see them every morning, and watching them from the window as we ate. The owners of the cottage were very warm and welcoming, they had lots of information for great places to take the children. We loved Aberporth beach, there is 2 beaches in Aberporth, one which is dog friendly. New Quay was also beautiful, we enjoyed walking along the harbour, seeing all the boats, and enjoying a delicious ice cream. We loved the Moody Cow, with a brilliant indoor and outdoor play area for the children to burn off some steam, and a delicious farm shop. There was also a lovely looking restaurant, but we didn’t have a chance to try it out. We had a fun afternoon in Borth. A beautiful little seaside town. We enjoyed fish and chips in the Sands cafe, then walked a 15 minute walk to a small place to enjoy feeding goats, seeing rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, tortoises and many more animals, with 2 fun climbing frames our boys loved! It was a really fun afternoon. The area is very quiet, safe and idyllic. We were sad our holiday has come to an end, could have happily stayed another week, we have come home and already looking at dates to rebook in the future.

Very soon after booking the cottage, I had contact from Digby and Penny, the hosts, with valuable information and directions to assist in finding them.

They met us on arrival and proceeded to offer helpful local information - a very friendly couple. On entering the cottage, we were very impressed with the thoughtful welcome pack, and being Easter it was themed accordingly. Ty Barcud was a spotlessly clean, cosy, atmospheric cottage, with a lovely log burner, already laid for us to use on our first night, the radiators were very efficient too. The kitchen was very well equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge and full size freezer, not to mention all of the utencils, baking equipment and crockery including serving dishes. The beds were lovely and comfy and we all slept well. The bed linen, towels and soft furnishings around the cottage were all good quality. The wifi signal was good, despite the remote location and using the internet was easy. There were reading books and games to use, as well as bincolulars, everything had been thought about. Simply, it was 'home from home'. The cottage has its own safely enclosed dog friendly garden - sitting on the patio was a delight to watch and listen to the many bird species on the feeders, in a tranquil setting, so relaxing. The property grounds are extensive and guests are welcome to walk around at leisure, enjoying the countryside views, besides being able to use a safely enclosed area, with a picnic bench which can be found on a high point in one of the properties fields, a peaceful place to enjoy the views. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the roads are not busy, making travelling to the local towns easy. This entire experience definitely exceeded our expectations, there was nothing that we could fault, or that could have been done better. We will return without hesitation.

We had a lovely stay at the stable and a fantastic week in wales.

The owners were really friendly and made us very welcome. The pros -The location is stunning. The views from your hot tub and garden are just beautiful. Rolling hills and cows coming right up to the garden fence. There are lovely walks right from the doorstep - The owners invited us to watch the cows being milked and meet their newborn calves. The children loved this and the owners spent lots of time with us and made it a great experience. -the hot tub is a fab addition. It was clean and the owners checked the water every morning. Views from hot tub are awesome. -the shared playground was great for our children. Very safe and they loved it. - our umbrella broke and they got us a new one straight away. We also expected a gas bbq but it was a coal one. They swapped it for us straight away! A few little improvements -Check in 3pm. We arrived at 4pm but was told cottage would not be ready until 5pm due to extra cleaning. Totally understand this but 5pm is too late and Sykes should have contacted us to make us aware. - the living room and kitchen is on first floor and it was difficult keeping our toddler away from the stairs. We put the sofa in front of it but a stair gate would have been a big help. -one of the lights in the kitchen was broken and there was another little light wired up strangely. Assuming their is an electrical issue with the light. It was a little dark in there so a big lamp is needed. -the games room isn’t great. It’s very old and needs a revamp. With a little work it could be a great addition. Overall would definitely recommend!!

Lovely cottage in a rural location.

Stunning views out on to the Welsh countryside. The road to the cottage was very bumpy, so not suitable if you have a lowered vehicle. But it’s worth it for the remote location. That said you are only 10mins drive into the beautiful Aberaeron. Cottage was well equipped with full kitchen. Floors & stairs were a little creaky but only as you’d expect from a cottage. The owners live on site and we’re very friendly when we bumped into them. The hotub was easy to use and situated perfectly to allow you to take in the views. If you are visiting in the colder months, don’t worry about being cold as the heating system was amazing, with rooms heating up almost instantly! The shower was very powerful and lovely & hot. The garden was fully enclosed so perfect for our dog. If you like craft beer make sure you check out Y Bryn - a brewery pub about 20mins drive from the cottage. Well worth the trip.

Such a charming railway carriage that couldn’t be no closer to the cliffs edge.

Views were outstanding. The coast path is close by and although we didn’t see any seals or dolphins from the carriage we did see seals from the path. The balcony area is private and we enjoyed sitting outside even in October. One thing to note is the driveway was very tight and we just about got our Kuga through the gate to the parking space for our car. There is also a new house being built right next door. Whilst we were there there was no noise from the site. The carriage is tastefully furnished and had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and internet was good. It was clean but some utensils needed re washing and the bins had bin juice at the bottom. The shower was warm and had a good output. It’s certainly one of the more private carriages in the area. Aberporth is a lovely place to stay and everyone we encountered was so helpful and friendly.
