This property really has the wow factor when you walk in.
The living space is vast and the kitchen is gorgeous and well equipped. So much thought into what is needed when you're on holiday. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. There are a few disappointments and I loved this cottage but parking is tricky and I knew this when I booked. Not much you can do about it which I understand. The email I received from the owner was really appreciated and they mentioned their housekeeper has very high standards but I can't agree with this. There was a big cobweb around the fire extinguisher in the kitchen- looked like it had been there a while too, also cobwebs in the bathroom. The microwave could of had a wipe over- removing the dust. The fruit bowl (ornament on the dining table) had a long curly hair in. The garden had a number of weeds which just need to be attended to. The clothes rail in the bedroom was dusty. The handsoap in the bathroom ran out on the 4th day which was a surprise when there was only 2 of us and we were out for most of the day. I know these things sound trivial but it does make a difference to your holiday experience. If the property owner isn't aware of the above issues then they can't rectify them for future guests.

Just back from a much needed break at Mariners Rest.
The weather wasnât the best but it didnât matter one bit as we were able to enjoy our beautiful place and surroundings come rain or shine! Lovely spacious and bright accommodation with a view of the sea to wake up to, such a calm, comfortable space to relax in, both inside and out. And thank you to our fabulous host Georgia who was excellent with her communication & kindly on call if we needed anything. But we didnât as everything was perfect ! Super location to explore too - we enjoyed just being able to walk out the door and walk the costal path from Gorran Haven to Port Mellon on a beautiful sunny day with stunning coastal views and we even saw some seals ! And nearby, well worth exploring the fishing villages of Charlestown, Mevagissey and Fowey. We recommend the Polgooth Inn for an amazing breakfast treat especially the âmarmite melt!â, the local Gorran fish and chip shop a short stroll away & the Crown at St Ewe for supper! Canât wait to return to Mariners Rest and the fabulous Cornish coast - missing you already!

A fab property.
We were lucky enough to be staying here, right in the middle of Gorran Haven, over New Year! Although the weather let us down some of the time, we canât fault anything else. Lovely welcome treats for us and the dogs on arrival, everything we needed to feel at home straight away & a great location. Cakebreads just down the road (village shop, cafe, bar & post office all mixed into one!) serves up a cracking breakfast (outside so wrap up warm) which set us on our way for fabulous walks in all directions⦠although the walk to Vault beach is a must on a sunny day, especially if you combine it with a walk to the Barley Sheaf pubâ¦.best Scotch egg ever & amazing steak!!! Mevagissey is also within easy reach, with a nice stop off at the Rising Sun in Portmellon. Great fish & chips in Gorran Haven to head back to al the end of the day too! Everywhere we went was super friendly, to us and the dogs! (Although, this may alter in peak season!) Highly recommend both the property & the location!

We had a wonderful stay in Cornwall - the cottage was spotless/beautifully clean, comfortable, really well stocked and to a high spec.
We had everything we needed for a week stay, plenty of room and Sam was a fantastic property owner. We received such a warm welcome to the property and felt we received brilliant helpful emails/information ahead of our stay. We felt very reassured with the cleanliness/high standards of protection re covid, thank you. There was plenty of space for two people + 1x dog - the dog had bowls, mat, blankets, towels, poo bags, beds etc provided too, which was very thoughtful. The log fire was great, heated floor brilliant and great shower/bathroom with washing machine facilities too. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend- weâd love to come back! We would advise travelling with a car so you can access towns across Cornwall. Itâs central so can head north/south easily. There is no parking at the cottage but fairly accessible street parking nearby, it wasnât ever a problem for us. The shop next door was extremely handy! Thank you for a fantastic honeymoon!

We had a lovely stay at miners rest which is so homely clean and has everything needed, Sam has thought of so many extras that you find you may need while on holiday that most cottages donât supply, plus the gorgeous scones jam and cream.
The cottage itself has been renovated beautifully by Sam which makes it so unique. Plenty of spaces to park and yes itâs near the corner shop where there are people stopping and parking to visit it but really this isnât a issue at all inside you donât hear the road noise which isnât a busy main road itâs so relaxing and quiet inside the cottage and garden. Itâs has many lovely walks nearby our favourite being The Loe Bar Beach and The Loe lakes walks, there are a lots of lovely NTrust places to visit locally too. The nearest fish and chips, always a must when on holiday, was Cousinâs Jacks they were lovely. We will definitely return to Miners Rest when we want to holiday in Cornwall again wouldnât even think about looking for a different cottage as you wouldnât find another as nice as this one. Thank you Sam for making our stay so relaxing and lovely eve on the rainy days. Our dog gave it the thumbs up too he felt very welcome.
