What our customers say about their holidays

What a fabulous stay we had!

An amazing lodge set in a very picturesque setting. You wake up with the sounds of birds in the garden, The Lodge is a wonderful place to explore Clywedog from. It has everything for a holiday cottage, it is very comfortable, clean and spacious, with beautiful decor and windows, for a very smooth cosy stay, The rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean, with lovely touches throughout, and the cottage is big enough for a group of 4. The owners have really thought about everything. We got lost on the way, however the hosts are very attentive, and communication is excellent. If you are looking to get away from it all and rejuvenate in beautiful location, this is perfect. With the reassurance that everything is at your doorstep when needed. then this is the place. We are truly missing the beautiful location and lodge. I wish we could have stayed longer in the Larches. This is an ideal location to explore and enjoy the great fishing at Llyn Clywedog from. Thanks Emma & Tom.

I was looking for a short stay in Wales where me and my husband and children could relax and explore the outdoors.

When I saw the pictures of the views from this lodge I know this place would be amazing. As soon as I booked, I received lots of useful information for our stay. I was also contacted by the owner who was very friendly and made sure we knew where we were going and had everything we needed. When we arrived, the views were not disappointing. We were met by the owner and shown around. The lodge was stunning, very clean and had everything we needed. The owner told us of places we could visit and was extremely friendly. I would 100% recommend this place to family and friends and anyone looking for a relaxing break. Waking up in the morning, having a cup of tea and listening to the cows and sheep was lovely. It was unbelievably quite and just perfect. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful holiday home. We hope to be back real soon. Charlotte, David, Olivia and James ☺️

The Larches is a lovely property set in a valley and leaves you feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere, that said town is only 5minutes away by car for all the essentials.

We wanted to forget our hectic daily lives and completely unwind, we managed this 100 times over and that’s with a 3year old in tow also. We were fortunate enough to be snowed in which wasn’t an issue as we had planned on doing very little and had stocked up. The lodge is equipped so you can easily cook a full roast if you wish. The owners also offered to get some essentials and Tom rescued us one day when we had a snowy walk, he came to see that we were okay as he knew we had the little one with us. There are things to do if you want to venture out or there are walks from the lodge and the reservoir is close by. The hot tub, the snow, the starry sky and getting away from normality was exactly what we wanted. Thank you to the owners who were there if needed though also didn’t invade our privacy.

My husband and I had a lovely warm welcome from Tom the owner.

The Larches is an outstanding lodge set in a spectacular location and is immaculately kept. It is beautifully fitted out to an extremely high standard, all quality fixtures and fittings, the beds and sofas were really comfortable, lots of fluffy towels, even bath robes were provided for us to use. The lodge is set in the hills and the views are breathtaking, it was so quiet and peaceful, no light pollution at night while looking at the stars from the hot tub a perfect way to end the day. We throughly enjoyed this superb lodge for a relaxing week, we will definitely return. Thank you Tom and Emma for the thoughtful box of goodies you provided they were much appreciated.

We have stayed at this beautiful traditional cottage many times and continue to book.

We are a family of 4, we have 2 boys aged 6 & 9. We all throroughly enjoy our stays at Y Bwythyn. The cottage itself is full of character and history. Perfectly positioned for exploring North wales especially with Cadwaladers Ice cream shop at the end of the road and Criccieth beach and Castle a stroll away! Many restaurants to visit too including Dylans position right on the sea front and The Poachers on the high st just a short walk away. Perfect all day breakfast at Swyn Y Mor just 2 mins walk from the cottage! All in all after visiting Criccieth and staying in many cottages over the past 22yrs we have found our home from home.
