    Holiday Cottages in Ceredigion

Once a minor kingdom, known historically as Cardiganshire, today Ceredigion includes several towns both inland and along the Cardigan Bay coast. The 60-mile stretch of Cardigan Bay coast sits along the Welsh Coastal Path, perfect to explore by foot. Dolphins are often spotted off Ceredigion’s beaches and if you want to get a closer look, there are many boat tour companies to choose from.

Further inland, take a short break in one of Ceredigion’s market towns, visit a woodland village or explore one of the few remote wilderness areas still in existence in the UK – the Cambrian Mountains. The primary settlements in Ceredigion lie around the edges of its wild moorland plateau with varied landscapes — spanning lakes, dense forests, wildlife havens and archaeological areas of interest.

Ceredigion holiday cottages have something for everyone, so no matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it here. Choose between woodland getaways, traditional seaside breaks or an active sporting holiday. With thousands of homes listed on Snaptrip throughout the UK, all backed by our best price guarantee, you're sure to find your next break. Need some help? What our customers say about their holidays

The view as we walked around to enter the carriage took our breath away and as we opened the door, stood on the mat and surveyed the carriage, just knew our choice of accommodation was first class.

Never have we immediately felt so at home. The carriage shone with cleanliness and the facilities were superb. The owners clearly take a deep pride in caring for the carriage and provide quality furnishings, from the comfortable bed with The White Company bedding to some Le Creuset pottery. There was a more than ample selection of cleaning materials/liquids etc, but we had the impression the owners did not need covid regs to tell them to ensure a clean environment be maintained. The privacy and solitude of the environment were restorative - there should be a warning sign that visitors will sleep like logs and awake to the sound and sight of the waves making it quite a struggle to get out of bed! But as we stayed in November, just had to get up and light the log fire - truly lovely. By way of recommendation, the owners may wish to be aware that the sofa has now passed its sell-by date - the cushions sink in the middle, have no support and slide forward during use, rendering it rather uncomfortable after a short while. However, we are confident it is on their radar considering how well maintained the property is. We also had the errmmm priviledge of staying as Storm Arwen hit on our final night - quite an experience as the carriage rocked in the gusts of 80mph wind (not for the feint hearted!). The storm upturned the patio furniture - we managed to retrieve the chairs but the table was stuck against the door with just enough room for us to exit but that at least did prevent the door from being ripped away in this most extraordinary weather. However, if we are honest, it would have been courteous to have at least had a text from either Sykes or the owners to ensure we were okay bearing in mind the cliff edge location. We did consider leaving early as news reporters advised keeping away from the coasts but decided it was safer to stay given the driving conditions and fallen trees on the roads. Nevertheless, we were planning a return stay even before our holiday ended. In fact, I think we'd like to live there!!

Clifftop Carriage is a real find.

It exceeded our expectations in every way - a perfect bolthole for a relaxing break for 2 people. The carriage is very well equipped with everything you need and quality fixtures and fittings throughout. A particular mention for a very comfortable king size bed and bedding - we slept so well. The combination of underfloor heating and the log burner works well and keeps the carriage cosy. The location is perfect with sea views from every window on one side of the carriage and decking and furniture for the sunny days. On the other side is off-road, secure parking right next to the carriage. It all feels very private and safe behind electrically operated security gates. Beyond the gate you are a stones throw from Aberporth beach or going the other way, you are similarly close to the clifftop path to Tresaith where The Ship Inn is recommended. We had one minor issue on arrival which the owner was quick to resolve with clear communication throughout. Overall, it’s clear that the owner takes pride in providing a really lovely place to stay. Highly recommended

Such a charming railway carriage that couldn’t be no closer to the cliffs edge.

Views were outstanding. The coast path is close by and although we didn’t see any seals or dolphins from the carriage we did see seals from the path. The balcony area is private and we enjoyed sitting outside even in October. One thing to note is the driveway was very tight and we just about got our Kuga through the gate to the parking space for our car. There is also a new house being built right next door. Whilst we were there there was no noise from the site. The carriage is tastefully furnished and had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and internet was good. It was clean but some utensils needed re washing and the bins had bin juice at the bottom. The shower was warm and had a good output. It’s certainly one of the more private carriages in the area. Aberporth is a lovely place to stay and everyone we encountered was so helpful and friendly.

Was left a little disappointed at not having more original features of the original carriage, especially on the outside, it looked more like a long shed.

The cleanliness overall wasn't overly great, having filthy windows & cobwebs in many places. The car standing could also have been nearer the property as there is quite a walk from the parking area, more so when unloading/loading the car in the rain. The light switches were confusing, perhaps being labelled as to which light the switch operated would help. Why, if the property was for two people sleeping, was there a dining table with 4 chairs, this took up unnecessary room. Advertising sky tv was a bit of a con when there is nothing but freeview channels available, I didnt see the point in that. The view everyday is priceless, along with the comfortable outdoor seating, the highlight of a mixed weather week. The bedroom window is very draughty even when closed. All in all, a very comfortable 6 nights, came home a day early due to the early departure time.

Unique experience in the converted carriage.

Lovely privacy and just what was expected. Just a couple of minor issues where I would class this as a romantic accommodation for two so I felt it was under specced in terms of equipment. I never understand why people do not stock nice glassware as it adds to the experience so to not find champagne flutes and the only other wine glasses were those your find from a 70s pub experience (with one sip and it's gone and rims like jam jars) was disappointing. Other kitchen tools were not what I would expect in quality either. The log burner in winter is a must and lovely but with the confines space every time you opened the door to place a log in you did have to vent the carriage a bit afterwards because of fumes. However, that being said we had a nice week in a lovely area with amazing views. Comfy bed, good hot water supply.
