Oak Cottage are pleased to announce that the woods are now open to guests and their canine companions!
We are pleased to be able to offer access to this lovely woodland. You will find both native and other species of trees, together with various seasonal fungi and lichens. We often have young buzzards in the woods. If you are lucky, you may see them either feeding from the woodland floor or flying between the trees. There are also rabbits and other woodland creatures.
The woodland is enclosed all around with stock-proof wire fencing. It should be safe for your pooch to be let off the lead unless you know they are likely to jump out! From time to time there may well be stock in the surrounding fields.
For your safety, please be aware that there are multiple ‘hazards’ to be found in this woodland. Tree stumps, hidden dips and rabbit holes, low branches, fallen debris etc. Guests are welcome to enjoy walking in these woods, but at their own risk! We ask that guests please respect the woodland area and bag all dog waste and place in the bin provided by the gates. This former barn has been converted into an end-terrace
cosy cottage with an enclosed private garden and hot tub plus a large balcony providing elevated views across the valley to the Preselli hills. There's two bedrooms at this lovely barn, a double and a single room, as well as a compact shower room. Downstairs is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining and seating areas and the added bonus of a conservatory with comfy seating. This is a delightful getaway for couples or a small group, looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area while having plenty of space in and around the cottage to make the most of relaxation time. The owners Les and Lesley live on site and greeted us on arrival. There is nothing that hasn't been thought about with regards to what you need in the cottage. There were some lovely sun sets seen from the bedroom balcony and the hot tub was an added bonus. The welcome pack was better than any we had at other holiday homes. Bread, butter, tea, coffee, biscuits eggs and jam. The position of the cottage was ideal lovely quiet area but near to plenty of beaches on the Cardigan coastline. Afon Mel honey farm was well worth a visit, try a sample of the mead. Cenarth Falls is a great place for photography and walking. We hoped to see the salmon coming up river but they didn't turn up on our day. Lastly Les and Lesley, lovely hosts we enjoyed some great chats with them and I'm sure any problems would have been sorted straight away. We didn't have any and I'm sure you won't either.
