What our customers are saying about our Large Cottages In Arundel To Rent.

"My wife and three children stayed at S4413 this year and I can't recommend it enough. The beautifully kept cottage is on a quiet tiny road in Fontwell next door to the owners, Lindsay and Roger and their extended family. Moving into Woodend for just a few days, we were treated like family. Lindsay and Roger were the perfect hosts, looked after us whenever we needed something and let us enjoy our break without intrusion. They were charming and so was Woodend. The decor is tasteful and luxurious and the finishing touches and the attention to detail were very much appreciated. The cottage was cosy but comfortably housed all five of us in three different rooms. Lindsay and Roger had thought of everything and had even supplied us with a decent cot and bedding for our baby. The location is perfect for day trips and walks and visits to Fontwell Park, Arundel, Chichester and so many interesting places in Sussex and it doesn't hurt to be a few minutes walk from a great pub "The Old Stables". We immediately felt at home here and are already planning our next trip. What's great is that Lindsay's daughter, Debbie, lives next door and has a fantastic beauty salon where you can book treatments / massages. My wife took advantage of this and was raving about it. We definitely felt spoilt and are so glad we found this treat. Hope it can become a regular stay. Thanks again Lindsay and Roger. PS. If you happen to be in Arundel, you must visit Castle Chocolates. The best sweets and chocolate we've had for years and the owner is a charming gentleman."

"My husband and I had read some negative reviews of this cottage so we booked our two week stay there with some reluctance. Our own experience is that Barrington Cottage is a mixed bag, in some respects quite charming but in other respects failing to match the high standards I’ve enjoyed in other cottages in the South East.Positives:The location is in a tiny hamlet with a fab pub within close walking distance. You will need to drive to Petworth to buy bread and milk but for many the peacefulness of the bill will be an advantage. The cottage is also surprisingly spacious and has a nice garden which we unfortunately couldn’t make use of. The view of the village from the main bedroom is lovely too. In all, the layout is quite quirky. Negatives:The shower isn’t fit for purpose so after a day we gave up using it in favour of baths (luckily there are 2 baths!) The standard of cleanliness is poor. On arrival I cleaned the throws on the living room sofas as they seemed not to have been washed for quite some time. The tired and dirty carpets should be replaced. There was a revolting leak under the toilet in one of the bathrooms. And generally, the decor, furniture and facilities are tired and would benefit from updating. However, if you are prepared to overlook these issues, you will be rewarded with a character cottage in a serene location."

"S4413 was an enchanting cottage for a three generational family holiday. We were completely blown away with so many thoughtful extras making our life extremely easy. Having flown down with small suitcases everything we needed we could put our hands on immediately. The 2 babies had cots and highchairs and stair gates. We had biscuits tea and coffee and an amazing selection of bath and shower goodies.Plush towels and cosy beds were just what we needed. Owners were so friendly and even let our granddaughter use a pedal bike.Walk out of the front door and just smell the peace and quiet of the woods. Miles of walking across the lane. Access to the hustle and bustle of bigger towns was a short drive away...Arundel, Chichester, Brighton. Most of all the huge variety of birds entertained us all. We had some good arguments as to the various varieties.Thank you so much for the entertainment! This is the first time that we have used Sykes Cottages. What a hard act to follow!"

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at S13785. We stayed over the Xmas break and it easily accommodated 12 of us in terms of sleeping arrangements, cooking, sitting down to dinner and also general space to relax and just chill which we did a lot of. All the rooms are decorated nicely and the bedding and toweling were all of good quality and the kitchen equipped with sufficient plates, cups and glasses etc. We enjoyed lots of walks around the grounds plus also into the village for the local shop and pubs. There isn't too much to do in Kirdford which is a beautiful village but Petworth and Billingshurst are only a short drive away. Good communication also between myself and the owners leading up our stay - no question was too much for them to answer. Would stay there again and would particularly like to stay in the summer months to enjoy the garden and surrounding areas more. In summary - a great place to stay and would encourage anyone looking to book up."

"My sister and I stayed in S123246 over Easter weekend with our three young children and had a fabulous time. The house is large and spacious and has an incredible history. The kids had an absolutely fantastic time both inside the house and running around the huge garden. With an acre to explore and a trampoline to bounce on they were never bored. We played frisbee for hours in the back garden and had an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday which we will never forget! The owners were very helpful, giving us lots of recommendations of local pubs and places of interest before we stayed. We went to a pub they recommended for lunch which was fantastic and took the kids to Singleton Open Air Museum where we got to visit another medieval house just like the Yeoman's but without the modernisation. It was fascinating. All in all it was a unique and special experience staying in such an old house with so much character and all mod cons that we thoroughly enjoyed."
