"Arrived on the Friday, gentleman behind the desk was very nice and attentive. Said the hot tub would be warm by 8pm. got into the villa to find it a little grubby, it hadn't been cleaned to high standard at all, the table was sticky the pots were dirty when we came to use them, and the toilet had urine around the rim. The whole place just needed a deep clean. The hot tub wasn't warm by 8pm, as when we went to check it had been set at 26 degrees no the required 40 degrees so use of the hot tub on the first night was out of question. After we cleaned the villa and got the hot tub temperature sorted there was no further issues, apart from a lack of toilet rolls (only one per toilet) but we requested some more and got some. when we checked out of the villa we raised the issues of cleanliness and the hot tub to be told by a rather rude woman that we were told that the hot tub wouldn't be available on the first night and that it also stated in there lodge guides that this was the case, it didn't state this in the lodge guide at all and in fact reiterated the fact it would be ready by 8pm. Her reply on the state of the cleanliness of the lodge she stated that they were due a referb, which is of little use to use and is no excuse for a dirty lodge, I mean it isn't much to ask for a clean toilet. not a very helpful woman and very defensive even though they were Clearly in the wrong, we didn't ask for a refund or anything and only really got an appology when we were half way out of the door."

"This was my third visit to Roydon Marina, in November. I found the lodge to be warm, clean and comfortable, as always, and the location peaceful and attractive. I am always self-catering as I have food intolerance requiring a special diet, so cannot comment on the restaurant. The cooking equipment is basic but adequate.The only quibble I had is that I wish I had taken my own tin-opener. It took me 20 minutes to get into a tin of salmon! Also, I came home in the dark one evening, and couldn't find the key pad to lift the entrance barrier. However, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.The second photo attached is of the river as seen approaching Roydon Marina."

"The furniture and fittings in the lodge were "tired and worn". The lodge was in desperatw need of a repaint.The shower constantly dripped/leaked. The tv was difficult to operate. We also felt the need and did buy additional things such as glasses to drink out of as there was not enough for 4 people. We were sorely disappointed as we had stayed at the site the previous year in a different lodge and had been impressed by the facilities in that lodge in Sept 2016"

"The elm was ok for short stay but the heating was not working in the master bedroom but the staff did there best to fix, but when they couldn’t the gave us an upgrade"
