"We spent a week having a lovely relaxing break at S16174 cottage. Lovely, spacious accommodation, both inside and out, in a peaceful village with uninterrupted views from the gardens. The weather improved on the final morning permitting al fresco breakfast. Our hosts, the Oldfields, were very welcoming and keep the gardens immaculate. The cottage is well equipped for self catering needs. The stairs to the twin bedroom were awkward and narrow and would be challenging for anyone with a disability, but the beds were so comfy, we dropped off to sleep within minutes. The cottage was stocked with plenty of books and DVDs to while away the cooler spring days and nights.Tarlton village is compact and very pretty with thatched cottages and open vistas. My x5 great aunt was born in the village over 200 years ago! Although no facilities in the village, there are two pubs within 5 minutes drive, The Tunnel House and The Thames Head with good food and ambiance. Tetbury a lovely market town, with an abundance of shops is 10 minutes drive away and Cirencester about 15 minutes. The Chipping Steps in Tetbury are worth a climb up or down and the church has a Heritage Centre for anyone interested in the history of the town. I am very grateful for the steward who helped me find the graves of my ancestors. There are many chocolate box villages within a short driving distance. Bourton on the Water, 35 minutes away is lovely, with its own miniature village. The Costswolds Airport is a few minutes drive and the AV8 cafe well worth a visit to watch small aircraft landing and taking off.S16174 is ideal for a small family wanting all the comforts of home in a country setting."

"We were met at the cottage by the most lovely genuine couple to show us around and explain a few bits. The history and how this cottage was made is absolutely lovely. The cottage was just like the photo's with added extras. It was wonderfully clean and got everything we needed, it had been really thought out to make it like it. Truly wonderful. There was nothing better than getting up and sitting at the dining table eating breakfast looking at the view out of the window. The only negatives was this is situated down a lane with pot holes and higher middle, but if you go slow down it you'll be fine. And you have to park the car not outside the cottage, but just a little way away, not far though. It's worth it though to stay here, as there is nothing the other side of the road only views, and a walk if you're interested. We did have a small problem with the main settee's in the room, we didn't find them very comfortable, but nobody else seems to have mentioned it, so maybe it was just us. There is another room you could use also so don't let my comment put you off as this cottage is lovely, I just had to mention it, as we had the small issue. There is a birdfeeder in the garden and we did see a woodpecker. There was mentions in the visitors book that people had seen deer."

"This is a delightful and attractive cottage in a group of beautifully renovated farm buildings, furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The owners, Rod & Martine, are the most welcoming and helpful hosts and they have provided plenty of maps and information leaflets on the surrounding area, plus books and DVDs. We really appreciated their thoughtfulness in providing a few basics so that we didn't need to rush out immediately on arrival to buy them. There is a large and beautiful garden backing onto countryside where we enjoyed sitting just drinking in the view and wildlife spotting. It's quiet and relaxing here. What the village lacks in terms of amenities like shops and cafes, it makes up for with unspoilt, peaceful surroundings, quaint chapel, great walking opportunities and wildlife, which for us, is its charm. Supermarkets, shops, banks and petrol stations are only 10 minutes away by car in the attractive towns of Cirencester & Tetbury, as well as a well-stocked farm shop. Lots of places to visit in the area and plenty of nice country pubs where dogs are as welcome as humans! In short, our rural idyll."

"The cottage is lovely and excellent value for money. We will definitely consider coming back when our children are older. I would advise though that it isn’t really suitable for children as young as ours. The living space is all on the first floor with a difficult to block staircase in the middle of the room. This was tricky for us as we have two under twos, one of whom was desperate to fling herself down the stairs. There is also no bath which is hard with little ones. That said the hosts had done a number of things to make our stay comfortable which were much appreciated. There were milk, tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for us in the very well equipped kitchen and I was especially grateful for the clothes pegs and Tupperware in the cupboards. Overall this was a great place to be, a short drive from the attractions of the Forest of Dean and local supermarkets etc but nestled away on a quiet farm. We loved it but it’s definitely more suited to older children."

"We had a delightful girlie birthday mountain biking weekend here in this spotless compact little cottage. Lovely location in a magical little valley with rural views from every window. We loved the tidy garden, the neat little farm and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was thoughtful of Steve to provide tea coffee milk and biscuits for our arrival. The weather turned very chilly while we there but with the excellent central heating we stayed super warm. The lounge was very comfy with a decent TV, and everything in top class condition, with a cosy 80's feel. There was plenty of space for parking and it took just a few minutes to drive to the nearest pub and about 15 mins to the cycle centre. The roads are steep and narrow here - great fun but watch out for deer leaping out in front of you!"
