Somerset is in the heart of the South West, with so much on offer for you to do and see. If you want sandy beaches and fresh local ice cream, try the charming seaside resorts of Minehead or Weston-Super-Mare. If you're more into hiking or cycling, try somewhere up on Exmoor or in the beautiful Quantock Hills. Or, visit impressive historical properties like Dunster Castle or Hestercombe House. Be sure not to miss the West Somerset Steam Railway, as well as some of the charming local traditions such as wassailing and the May Day celebrations in Minehead, when the hobby horse is paraded around the streets.

Whether you want a log cabin in the heart of Exmoor National Park or a lodge in one of the bustling towns, we can help with our wide range of lodges and log cabins in Somerset. Try Taunton Museum for local history, or visit any of the fantastic cider farms for real Somerset scrumpy.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Maskall - Verified booking

A very cozy cabin, which is bright and airy. The view across the field, including the sheep and the quiet make for a very relaxing spot to do nothing or just read a book. Although the location is well removed from other homes and the village along a number of narrow lanes, many interesting places and delightful pub restaurants are within easy reach. We had good meals at the "Villa Verdi" in Wellington, La Campanga" at the former "Eagle Inn" on the A303 as you approach Buckland St Mary from the east. Also there is a great daily carvery at the 'Hare & Hounds" just out of Honiton on the road to Budleigh Salterton. We enjoyed visits to the Wellington Monument, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens and also Stourhead on our journey home. We also undertook the challenge of a round of golf at Taunton & Pickeridge GC where we received a warm welcome. The cabin was the ideal base for our short break and the weather was better than we had expected. We will surely have to come again as it is also close to family and friends for a catch up.

What a fantastic dog friendly log cabin. We had a really great week, from arrival, with the welcome loaf, butter, honey, milk and vase of flowers to all the dog friendly touches; water bowel, blanket, biscuits, dog bin and dog shower in the laundry room. The garden was fully enclosed and Pepper enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sheep and birds through the glass front. We were able to relax and enjoy the great views over farm and local countryside. The cabin is in a good location, we visited the north and south coasts, plus lots of great places to walk the dog, both near the cabin and within 30 mins drive. There are some narrow lanes around the cabin, can be tricky driving along them, but that's what makes the place so special. We did get some noise from the adjacent farm, but it's a working farm so to be expected and didn't disturb us. Look forward to returning at some point as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

      LOVELY CABIN.

We were met by the owner on arrival , which was nice . Amber glow is a quirky little cabin , it has everything you need and it’s in a great location. There is so much to do in the area . The garden is dog friendly,so you know your doggy is safe out there . Bedding was lovely, fleece all round . Our only negative would be the road. The a361 is a main trunk road and is busy 24hrs a day . 1st night we struggled to sleep but you do get used to the noise. For us we have 2 main things that we need when we go on little breaks & that is the property & garden being dog friendly & safe for our little one & a comfortable nights sleep . Amber glow gave us both of them . Overall we had a lovely stay in Amber glow.

The location was lovely and peaceful with rabbits hopping around everywhere.

The garden was ideal for our two dogs because there was plenty of space for them to run around playing ball. Whilst it was great having a television in every room it would have helped if the reception had been better - the picture kept breaking up and I had to resort to watching programmes on my laptop. In addition if one wanted to use a mobile phone it was necessary to go out into the garden as there was no signal inside. However, despite these drawbacks we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at High Lodge but the inclusion of a visitors' book would be a good idea so comments could be added.

After still getting lost on the way there despite the new directions we arrived at Little Barn.

Karen and Campbell were welcoming and showed us around the place. Little Barn had all of the facilities and comforts that we have come to expect from Sykes cottages and extra touches like fruit and flowers and a milk to start off our holiday. The setting was lovely with a pond just outside the door where the swallows swooped down and then headed back to their nest in the stables. Each time we came "home" the dogs came to greet us with enthusiasm. From Little Barn we visited the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Wells cathedral, Wilton and Stonehenge.
