Beautiful property in a beautiful area.
Due to it being new there are a few more things that are needed to make it perfect. Coffee machine supplied but not even 2 pods there so you can see which ones goes with that machine, theres just so many at the supermarket, we just dodnt know which one goes with that machine. Not even a salt and pepper pot, the cupboards were absolutely bare. We didn't realise we needed to take everything. There was a plate with some tea, coffee sachets, sugar sachets, 2 hot chocolate sachets and a couple of biscuits. We thought they would have some local products like scones, cream and jams as a meet and greet welcome gift, in the fridge there were a few small pots of milk. Let's face it, everyone who comes to Cornwall has a long drive there and it would be nice to have something there when you arrive. Very bare minimum kitchen utensils, could do with a masher for potatoes for example, due to being out of session a lot of places in the evening are closed so we cooked at the lodge. I think if they are going to continue to rent it out during the winter some more kitchen utensils are needed. We had a problem with the heating, they did try to fix it so for 3 nights we were freezing then on the last night it was fixed but went ro the extreme and it was like a sauna. There is no thermostat to control the heat, theres a hub but not even the staff new how to work it, so maybe an easier option would be better. There is no doubt that this is a top quality lodge, it just need tweaking. It looks brand new and it is truly beautiful, but things like the towels could be bigger and better quality to suit the lodge. There is even a wine cooler and a dishwasher (tablets supplied) but no spare bin bags or dish clothes. You don't go on holiday and thunk you need to buy theses things. No pillow protectors, could do with better quality pillows to be fair. Ironing board and iron. Somewhere to hang your washing, either in or outside. We asked for a clothes stand and they gave us one without a problem, they thought the washing machine was a dryer too, if it was we couldn't work it out. Maybe some instructions if it is. No Internet up in the lodge. We used up our data because we are too far away from the signal of the camp site so a booster up there would be great. I have my own business so I need Internet and it is advertised as having Internet just not in the lodge. Bins, very small bin in the kitchen. Could do with bins outside in a enclosed container to put your rubbish in and to be able to recycle better. You have to put your waist in your car and take it down to the main bins. We are not saying we wouldn't come back due to theses small tweaks, we are saying for the price of the lodge to bring it up to standard of the price you are paying. Staff very friendly and very beautiful location.

Lovely clean bright chalet.
Excellent use of space. Lovely comfy beds, great shower. Well equipped. Only thing we missed was a small freezer compartment part to fridge, just for ice cubes for our drinks ! No reception on TV, but contacted the owner beforehand and asked if it was OK to bring a DVD player, which was fine, but as it turned out we didnt use it as we could log on to out Amazon Prime! The site was peaceful and friendly. There was construction and updating going on which meant the facilities were not up and running, but as we had dogs with us, we hadnt really expected to use them. Spar, Co-op, local pub, Chinese takeaway, Pizza all easy walk. Did feel it was shame that there was a lovely old manor house, neglected, with ugly new builds surrounding it, but thats a personal view. Great location to visit lots of places, nice walks in area, sandy beaches properly dog friendly before 10am and after 6pm at this time of year, some all year round, just watch tide times to find the sand lol! Very grateful to find a nice place like this within budget, in this current climate of crazy prices!! Parking charges are also crazy so check for free car parks for Bude and Widemouth Bay. (nice food van at the latter -and nice cafe at the pay and display. Also be mindful of the possible algae at Tamar Lakes (we saw the sign after our walk) A big shout out to the excellent Killock Farm Coarse Fishery 2 mins up the road £6 dawn to dusk, 5 lakes - partner very happy! Thank you for letting us stay :) x

I was a little worried after reading the last review, however it could not have been further from the truth!
We found it to be spotless, comfortable and very well equipped . Everything was excellent quality, furniture was good quality and very comfy sofas ( we had our own sofa blanket for the dog but blankets were supplied ) . Clearly time and effort has been invested in this lodge to make it so comfortable. It looks like the outside of the lodge has recently been refurbished to a high standard and we had a lovely evening sitting outside the lodge on a quiet still evening. Beds were really good. comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. It's a very nice quiet clean park. It is a great base for seeing the local area. Having been in hospitality for years my baseline is always whether or not I would stay again, and I would absolutely stay here again, really enjoyed our stay! Well situated to enjoy the local attractions, A must is an afternoon at Clovelly which is a half hour drive. The National Trust Sandymouth Bay Beach is two miles away , we went there every morning with our dog who loved the rock pools as we enjoyed a coffee overlooking the bay . Live music at Crooklets Beach Bar in Bude and dinner in the local village pub close to the park (Kilkhampton ) , perfect end to a perfect stay. We will be back !

Short concrete path leads directly from car park to the property.
I have had back trouble in the past so really appreciated the orthopaedic mattress - so much so that I have taken its details and have ordered one for mysellf, The owners obviously take pride in providing everything a guest could wish for. Cupboards/drawers full of books, games videos etc for if weather is bad (luckily we didnât need them). Every conceivable kitchen implement was there including Tupperware boxes to make a picnic if desired. Towels were the softest we have ever felt and smelt like summer - name of fabric conditioner please. Cottage very clean with enough cloths and comprehensive cleaning materials to clean a medium sized hotel. All we needed to bring on holiday were our clothes and toiletries- everything else was well provided for. Well located near Bude and beaches. Comfortable stay for two people using second bedroom as storage for suitcases etc. Might be a bit snug for family if four. All in all would book this dog friendly cottage in future

A really lovely little cabin.
My partner and I and of course my dog stayed here for a week. The cabin was really well equipped. I would say pack a oven glove no oven glove. We.used a towel. The dog said thank you for the jar of biscuits. The cabin was clean except for the shower under the slip mat had hairs so I was joined by someone's long black hair. I know it wasn't mine my partner and I are blonde. But I was impressed with the cabin and bed was very comfortable. The local pub the red lion is dog friendly the manager loves dogs it is a comfortable pub really friendly the locals welcome you in and will have a good old chat. Also fuss the dog. My advice is park the car at the back of the pub you have in the grounds. To unpack and load up because the hill from the main car park to the cabin is a killer when trying to take your stuff in. The area around is lovely. We had a really lovely week. Thank you so much.
