What our customers say about their holidays

    • Richard - Verified booking

We chose this location as it was perfect to visit the various parts of Cornwall we wanted to see -Tintagel, Port Isaac, Looe, Polperro, Mousehole, Porthcurno Beach, Kynance Cove and The Lizard.

We visited more locations thanks to the info that the owners Jill, Trudy and Richard gave us. We were absolutely delighted with their welcome. The lodge is superb and has a full range of appliances that you would want - dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, TV with DVD player, Wi-Fi and more. It is very clean indeed and has all the materials you would need - just as if you were at home. Lots of towels and, even lots of coat hangers for your clothing The peaceful surroundings were very special to us as we come from the very busy south-east. The location is not far outside Bodmin and the local village of Lanivet has some stores and a pub that we dined in. The lodge was so much bigger than we expected and it was so comfortable. It has double glazing and the walls too have insulation, keeping a comfortable temperature which we found very welcome on returning on a chilly night after a long day out. To summarise, if you are wanting a large, very comfortable, fully-equiped lodge in quiet and beautiful surroundings, with car parking outside, with easy reach of the many great sites of Cornwall, DON'T HESITATE - BOOK THIS!!

We had a great week in the Lamb Shack.

This was the first time we had stayed in a pod and were a little apprehensive about only having such a small space to live in for the week. We were however very pleasantly surprised at just how spacious the shack was. I didn’t realise how fun it is to have to crawl up and down the bed to get into/out of it. It was well equipped with everyday essentials (plates, glasses etc). The use of a convection oven instead of just a microwave was also useful. The fridge could have done with having a small freezer compartment. The welcome pack was very gratefully received. The wifi was down for the week we were there, but Venessa (the owner) very kindly said that we could use her conservatory and access her wifi if needed. Actually she was very helpful and accommodating with any requests. The shack is situated at the rear of the owner’s property, behind the stables, so it is quite secluded. It’s next to the fields that have horses, sheep and alpaca’s in. Located ideally for exploring North Cornwall. Local pub (White Hart) very friendly and lovely food.

We had an excellent holiday in Hazel Lodge.

Jill and her family were very welcoming and friendly. They were always there for any questions/queries we had, they were full of information as to where to visit or shop etc. We didn't need for anything as everything was provided in the lodge, all we needed was our clothes, which was brilliant. Our stay was extremely peaceful and relaxing with lots of space around us. The lodge was very spaceous with great views. The location was ideal as it was central to visit all of Cornwall. I would highly recommend these lodges and would definately come and stay again. Thank you Jill and your family and a special thank you for our lovely scones when we arrived and an extra pint of milk in the fridge, fresh flowers on the table, which lasted our 2 weeks, also chocolates as a thank you when we left - these little touches make a great holiday and fantastic host. So thank you, we had a lovely time and really didn't want to leave the lodge, it was that lovely. Andie and Tony

Fantastic week at the Lamb Shack.

Vanessa was a welcoming and very friendly host and offered us local knowledge prior to and during our stay. The Property was better than expected and situated in a beautiful secluded spot on the owners farm, so peaceful and relaxing, just what we wanted. Location is perfect for exploring both coasts and many beautiful towns, easy access to main roads which is an advantage!. Wadebridge provided us with many supermarket options and there is a local shop in St Teath, of which was only open restricted hours due to the current COVID situation. The local pub, within 15 mins walk, is definitely worth a mention, welcoming and friendly, good beers available and a great little menu, good wholesome pub grub! We would 100% recommend the property to couples looking for something a bit different and quirky, who like exploring and a comfortable base to return to in the evenings. Thank you Vanessa, you have a lovely property.

Just arrived home from a very pleasant stay in 'The Lamb Shack' it was everything i expected and more.

Was not so lucky on the weather side of things therefore it was even more important that the accomodation was comfortable and it was, so cosy and snug and clean with everything well provided. A total peace haven. It is well equiped wi-fi included. Vanessa, family and freinds made the stay even more enjoyable. Vanessa was very welcoming and a perfect host. I would highly recommend The Lamb Shack to anyone. I will be visiting again in the future for sure. I enjoyed it all even the local old world pub a short walk away in the local village 10 minutes walk away. The locals are so freindly and welcoming The surrounding scenery and animals were delightful with 2 horses, 4 pet sheep and two amazing alpaca,s. Oh yes we had an unexpected arrival a new born lamb who is now my namesake ( smile ) Perfect place to enjoy a peacful vacation and lots of local resteraunts and places of interest. 6 STAR ☆☆☆☆☆
