What our customers say about their holidays

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Castleside. It is a beautiful property in a beautiful village and I don't see how it can be bettered. It is in a quiet position, tucked away behind the main street, which makes it easy to pop out to shop or to eat at one of the cafes or pubs. There is excellent secure parking with two parking spaces for the house. Its starring feature, of course, is the spectacular view of the castle from the upstairs sitting-room. It was wonderful to watch the sun go down on it at night when the old stones really glowed and to lie in the upstairs bedroom and admire the floodlit keep. The cleaners should be thanked for the excellent care they have taken of this holiday home. A thank you to all involved for making this experience such a good one.

The Bolthole couldn't be in a more convenient position in Bamburgh. Wydenwell's (?) is almost next door, and importantly they do a very good flat white! Excellent butcher and general store, but no cashpoint in town. You will need to need to bring essentials if you plan to stay local. The beach is 5 minutes away. A beautiful, wide, sandy beach with some interesting rock formations, if you like that kind of thing. The house itself is very comfortable, and well-equipped. We had a small maintenance problem on the first day, which was quickly fixed. Bamburgh is a friendly place, and not too busy when we were there at the end of April. Perfect relaxing holiday. Enjoyed a takeaway from the Lobster Pot. Good menu and delicious. Will definitely be back. Thank you

Just back from 4 nights stay in Betony.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The property is as described. It is lovely and quiet but lots of fab places are really accessible by car. The property was well spaced for 6 of us, it was very clean and had all the inventory we required - we mostly ate in. I think the property must have been empty immediately prior to us as it was really cold when we got there (Fully appreciate the weather has been really cold this week!) it took a good 24 hours to heat up properly, but once it was warm it was lovely. Not a complaint and as we were out and about it didn't bother us too much. I'd also suggest taking some toilet rolls as we ran out of the ones provided (again not a complaint, just info I find handy on reviews!) Would thoroughly recommend.

Bolthole is a 2 bed (both en-suite) in the Crewe courtyard right smack bang in the middle of Bamburgh village. It’s gated and secure. There are three areas for sitting out, although was abit cold whilst we visited. It was just perfect for us. Its quiet. It’s immaculately clean. owners were around whilst we were there and it was great to hear how the cottages came into being, having once been part of the rear outbuilding at The Lord Crew Arms. We walked a lot most days. We ate at the ocean club and Lewis's fish and chips both in Seahouses. Excellent. The shops were all closed up as it was first week in January accept for Butchers and this is a must to visit and get yourself some Bamburgh Bangers - delicious.

Being in the heart of Bamburgh was great but unfortunately having previously been part of the Lord Crewe Hotel the accommodation was attached to the hotel and very near the kitchen area which meant the kitchen fans were quite audible in the upstairs bedroom from around 07:30am until late evening. The noise was constant and not desirable. There was also outside lighting at the back of the hotel which was illuminated all night and quite bright. If these could be addressed we would recommend the property.
