"Got off to a bad start, I booked early to avoid price rises only to have the price reduce by £40 before I paid the final amount 10 weeks out but I was still expected the old amount, I can understand with a few weeks to go but the reduction was 15 weeks in advanced. It was comfy and well equipped, the Sky was a nice touch though it was a shame it was connected to the internet which give a best experience. It was one of the best Studio properties we have stayed at.Real downside was the access to the property, restricted drive, narrow roads and a school meant it was a nightmare trying to get to and from the property we seemed to catch school time every time and the parents didn't seem to have a brain cell between them just blocking the road unnecessarily. It was easier to walk the half mile to the chip shop than get the car out, that how bad it was.The speed cameras that were round every corner got very wearing"

"Overall the cottage was just about okay. There were simple things that let it down.Positive-The cottage was in a good location for walking the manifold way up to Wetton hill and Thors cave. It was on the main road though and very noisy. It had character and the wood burner was good for warming the house up.The kitchen area was small but had good equipment. You would struggle to fit 4 people around table.Negative- overall cleanliness was really bad and comment book had many comments about this. The cushions on the sofa had lots of stains on them.Bedding was clean though.Main bed was uncomfortable and springs and electric blanket could be felt.Small tv which scratched our DVD and then wouldn't play others. The towels were too small.I wouldn't stay there again I'm afraid."

"Stunning location and a truly unique property in which to stay. The boathouse maintains traditional features but captures a certain warmth and comfort that envelopes you as soon as you start walking down the steps towards the property. It may not be the most modern of interiors but the charm and homely feeling that it gives in abundance makes up for everything. We had a week of mild October weather, allowing us to explore the lake and surrounding towns, but even if it had rained everyday, I don't think any of us would have complained about sitting round the fire with a good book, some classic board games and a glass of wine whilst in the company of friends and family!"

"A lovely cottage in a picturesque location where you can undertake a hike right from the doorstep. A couple of pubs nearby but no grocery shops so best to stock up before you get there. The cottage is right on a road so there is some traffic noise but it's not overly busy. No phone signal (not unusual in the area in general!) and no wifi in the cottage (although there is wifi in the local pub) so send any last-minute communications beforehand :-). There's a nice outdoor area and BBQ, and a parking spot around the back of the property. A lovely place to stay for a few days and would stay again."

"Had a totally relaxing time at The Coach House, the owner was away but he still called us from holiday to say hello. Welcomed with fruit, biscuits and a bottle of wine, lovely touch. The cottage has applied the appliances you need, plus there are local shops, pubs and a great mexican restaurant. We took a walk along the canal between Cheddleton and Froghall (5 1/2 miles), then caught the steam train back on the Churnet Valley Railway, fantastic walk, nice and flat along the towpath.Would strongly recommend for a couple who want to relax and get away from it all."
