The Nut Hatch is the perfect location if you want to experience the peace and tranquility of village life in Kent. We stayed for five days and spent one day walking around the locality of Goodnestone ( lots of public footpaths and wildlife in the area ) and visiting the gardens of Goodnestone House then ending up in the local pub, The Fitzwalter Arms ( literally 150 yards from the Nut Hatch ). The food served in the pub was very nice and is well worth a visit. All the locals we met were so friendly which made the day so enjoyable. This location makes it easy to reach many of the County's attractions. For example, Canterbury 11.9 miles ( 24 minutes ), White cliffs of Dover 13 miles ( 23 minutes ). Last but not least, the owners of the Nut Hatch, Emma and James were so welcoming. Full of local knowledge and very helpful. The accommodation is well set out clean and tidy and has everything you need. Loved the log burner and the clear and precise instructions for lighting it made for a perfect fire. This is the first holiday let we've stayed in where you can have as many logs as you like for the log burner ( and not have to pay when the first batch runs out ) In conclusion - Lovely accommodation, Lovely hosts and lovely countryside. Couldn't ask for more.

The cottage is in the most perfect location by the Weir (naturally!
) so we saw an abundance of ducks and moorhens. The garden is large and beautifully planted and fully secure for our dog to roam free. The front garden has a magnificent weeping willow. The house itself is compact but very comfortable, the shower room is modern and the shower is hot and powerful. The whole of the upstairs is the bedroom, which is decorated well and has a very comfy bed. The toiletries supplied are plentiful and from the fabulously luxurious Noble Isle range. The welcome pack of snacks, biscuits, soft drinks and a pint of milk (for a welcome cup of tea on arrival) was much appreciated..(with a few teabags and coffee sachets supplied in the kitchen cupboard too). We had the most glorious week of sunshine and have taken so many sunrise and sunset we could publish a book! Castle staff throughout were extremely friendly and utterly professional. We have already booked the same week next year and were very sad to leave.

I can’t think of anything that our kind hosts had forgotten. The cottage was spotless and modern inside whilst in keeping with the historical village. Everything was supplied - with many thoughtful touches - a box of Kent Chocolates, fresh eggs, milk and bread - and two fluffy white bath robes! Everything was of such a high standard - walk-in sensor lights in the bathroom, wall mounted phone chargers, and a gorgeous wood burning stove to keep us cosy. There were details of local attractions and amenities - and our hosts whilst not obtrusive were on hand on the site if we needed anything. We would thoroughly recommend Nut Hatch for a comfortable peaceful break.

We were the first guests to stay at Appleyard - Paul & Marion made us feel very welcome and the hamper of local produce was a lovely touch. The cottage is very well equipped with a really lovely private garden, comfy bed and great space to chill out in. The cottage is also very well located for walking into the village of Chilham with it's lovely scenery and good pubs. Chilham station is also close by so you can be in Canterbury in 10 mins. The cottage is also well located for accessing walks along the North Downs Way as well as circular walks in the local area. Thank you for a lovely few days at Appleyard

The Little House was a lovely find and we really enjoyed our stay in it. It is well equipped and had everything we needed, together with a very high standard of cleanliness. We really enjoyed sitting in the large, wonderful garden. Although the garden is shared with the owners, at no time did we feel intruded upon and they afforded us privacy - the perfect hosts. The conservatory was an added bonus too, as was the off-road parking. Rolvenden is in a good location and close to many places of interest. Overall, we had a very comfortable, restful holiday in this highly recommended property.
