What our customers say about their holidays

Date of stay 18-08-2023 to 25-08-2023 This is an excellent barn conversion into a cosy 1 bedroomed cottage for two people.

The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality, and everything you could need is supplied. Lovely thick bath towels are supplied, so there is no need to bring your own. The shower is perfect and large with good water pressure and stable temperature. The bedroom is compact, but there is a double bed, a good-sized chest of drawers and a hanging rail with 8 coat hangers, and a bedside table on either side of the bed. There is very little space between the bottom of the bed and the wall, we are not large people so not a problem for us. The bed was very comfy. Don't worry if you forget your teabags, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, J-cloth etc... there is some supplied to get you started. Other cleaning products and equipment also supplied. The owner had left milk and biscuits for our arrival very much appreciated thank you. This cottage is in a good position for visiting lots of the local heritage sites and beaches. We need to go back to continue with our adventures in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Overall, we were fully satisfied with the property - just the odd thing that we thought needed improvement.

As a positive, we thought it might be rather noisy, being so close to the Railway Station. It wasn’t - surprisingly quiet. Very clean, and plenty of crockery, glassware, cutlery etc. Good sized Lounge. Plenty of room for four people, but seven would probably have to have ‘two sittings’ round the table in the Kitchen for meals. A few suggestions for improvement:- Better instructions on how to drive to the parking slot at the rear of the property as you arrive (directions were to the front door) The en-suite shower head/pole didn’t seem to be compatible, and it proved difficult to get the water flow in the right direction It wasn’t obvious which dustbins belonged to the property The bedrooms lacked storage units for non-hanging items (T-shirts, underware etc). Massive hanging wardrobes, which were ‘shouting out’ for internal shelves, or a little internal drawer unit

What an amazing place and spotless & has everything you need.

So peaceful and tranquil and relaxing in the amazing hot tub. Plenty of space in the secure garden for our dog and daughter to play with. Travel swing ball/badminton set we took. Waking up to see rabbits and pheasants and even saw a dragon fly & owl. The lodge is an absolute credit to the owners Ali John & Sasha and thank you for lovely gifts you left for us and our dog too. The home made apple juice was out of this world delicious. Even bought some paintings done by Sascha & her ban & a light up bottle with butterflies on it. The tv was massive & a PS4 too in room and also tv’s in both bedrooms. Will Definitely be back without a doubt. Best place We ever stayed in a little Sun trap With loads of room on balcony. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay Ali John and Sascha Ps: Sasha also can look after your dogs for a few if you want. Few hours alone amazing

The cottage is lovely and in a fantastic location for great walks, quiet beaches and a rainy day trip to York was within an hour.

The hosts are incredibly welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only criticism, which was unique to us and you cant tell from the pictures is that the house is next to a 60mph B road, with the main bedroom window opening onto the road, which seemed to have quite a bit of traffic from 7.30am. So if you are an early riser then this won't be a problem, but if you are hoping for a bit of a lie in on your holiday (as we were) then we found that element a bit frustrating. Other than that, the cottage is lovely and in a fantastic location with a nice meadow and pond behind the house, with plenty of space for the kids to roam. There's even a resident Barn Owl which was a real highlight!

I came to the property with my mum and dog for a relaxing break and that’s just what we got.

The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the local area and visits to the coast a short drive away. The Cottage was well maintained, clean and comfortable. There was plenty cookwear, plates, pans etc to cook up a feast although they could benefit from a new frying pan as it had a wobbly handle. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a side gate to the property between robins nest and the car parking spaces. This would allow you to let your dog off the lead while enjoying the outdoor courtyard, as with my inquisitive pointer I could only sit and enjoy the space with her on the lead otherwise she would be off sniffing for rabbits.
