"As a family of 4 adults we really enjoyed our stay at The Moorings and in the Hastings area. The house and kitchen are well equipped and parking on the drive was a real bonus given the location (which is right in the middle of the old town). Depending on the size of your car and your parking skills a bit of manoeuvring either to get in or out is required. The house is very comfortable and light and we particularly liked looking through the books on Old Hastings and appreciated that there was a small choice of other books, as well as lots of leaflets on nearby attractions. As others have commented, there is no wifi but we didn't particularly miss it. The front door keys can be a bit temperamental, but pulling the door towards you (from the outside) helped. It would make it easier to keep towels apart if they weren't all the same colour (white)."

"Whyte Cottage is a spacious, clean and comfortable holiday cottage situated in a residential area of Hastings. We had a short break in March and were lucky to have fine weather. The conservatory was a lovely place to go, after a day out, with a cuppa and a cake. Our dog Molly loved to lay in there checking the garden for 'intruders'.Local shops are a short drive or bus ride away, including a Morrisons supermarket. The cottage has everything needed for a short or long stay and the welcome pack is a nice touch, giving the chance for a cup of tea and a biscuit before unpacking! We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay there again. At every cottage we stay at (and there's been a lot over the years) we ask ourselves if we'd like to live there permanently. Whyte Cottage is one of the few where we have said, yes we would."

"Great location in the old Hastings town, can easily walk (hilly) intothe old town itself, parking for two cars or perhaps carefully 3 small ones, you have to know how to reverse as road one car wide but we had no problems, all the locals wait for each other. A quaint old fishing part of Hastings with Sea life centre, crazy golf, antique, art and bric & brac for the rainy days, with good fish and chips at the Dolphin. Large park in centre of Hastings Alexander Park, large space for children and of course the fishing boats very interesting, and the sea. Accomodation clean, towels etc, good instructions, even found a hair dryer. Would be good too in the summer with the castle to visit, and the caves (closed fm 9 Nov). Have a fab May day parade and bike meet very festive. No problem about going again."

"Great first impressions, beautiful building and in lovely gardens. However, dark and a bit gloomy inside due to the design of the original building with tiny windows (apart from one bedroom with a skylight with no blind which is perpetually light so difficult to sleep!) Kitchen doubles as a lounge area, but seating area is cramped and when using the table, no one can sit on the (very uncomfortable) settee to watch the TV on the wall (which gives you neck ache trying to watch it). Not a relaxing space for evenings in. No heating in the swimming pool (which is directly outside), so unless you get a heat wave (rare in the UK!) - its absolutely freezing and we couldn't use it, even on the fairly warmer days we had. This was one of the biggest disappointments."

"The downstairs bedroom is very small, electric socket is an extension lead half hidden behind a cupboard, the so called ensuite is really a cupboard under the stairs dark and damp, the sink was unusable plug didn't work, toilet flushed but didn't flush anything away had to keep on flushing to clear the bowl. The grass had been cut but had been left on ground the little ones were covered in cuttings and then brought it all indoors. Upstairs bathroom ok but when you emptied the bath it showered over the garden possible blocked pipe, my son had already had to unblock the shower. A bit dusty in places.Very expensive for the facilities in the property ."
