Great little lodge in an excellent location. Having the hotel next door was an advantage too as it was nice to pop to the bar for an evening beverage. We didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment on that. The accommodation was lacking in some home comforts - not enough crockery or table mats or cleaning clothes, but these were small inconveniences and didn’t detract from a great weekend.

A very friendly welcome. The cottage was comfortable and well furnished in a bright style. The surrounding gardens were very attractive. It was a quick drive into St Andrews.

I have put yes for recommending it but a few things not very good. We arrived to find a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, which we washed by hand as couldn’t work dishwasher, the garden area was full of weeds , the garden furniture was filthy, one of our party an 86 year old man sat on one of the chairs which immediately collapsed under him as the wood was rotten, luckily he wasn’t badly hurt, just shook up, the garden bench was upside down under the window. In the sitting room, no cushions provided for the sofa, we had to sit with pillows behind us to get comfortable, the double bed in the main bedroom, very uncomfortable, you can feel the springs through the mattress. We are all in our late seventies and eighties, so not really suitable for the elderly. I suppose if you’re younger you could put up with things. Apart from that the hotel and hotel gardens are lovely, I think housekeeping team need to be informed about checking and doing their job properly
