"This is a great place to stay. The owner is great and very helpful. We spent a week here with our two Shih Tzu's and they loved it with the big garden fully enclosed except the gate but they never even tried to go though it. Inside is very clean and comfortable with everything you would need. We were even able to record a programme we wanted to see so that we were able to see it later in the week. Beds clean and comfortable. Shower great with a bath if you would rather use. Only down side is the local drivers who think that the lane outside is a race track as they now it well, so be very careful when driving around corners. (Buy a dashcam for evidence). We had our Grandchildren stay for 2 nights and were made very welcome. The welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits is a very nice touch by the owner. All in all, I would recommend this place to all and will be returning ourselves in the future."

"Beautiful location, mostly very quiet and the property was lovely and warm with good parking. A few days were noisy with low flying aeroplanes constantly landing and taking off. This could be a problem in Summer. Flat was very small. There was nowhere to put things and I lost count of the number of times I bruised my legs trying to walk round bed.Surfaces and floor were very dusty and our clothes seemed to be always covered in fluff off the furnishings. Only 1 out of 4 light bulbs in the living area was working. After opening balcony doors we couldn't get them to close properly. There were no free logs which was just as well as when we opened the stove a starling flew out. After this and reading that the previous occupants had had the same problem we were scared to have a fire in case another bird fell down the flue."

"Property was dirty in many places with broken furniture and wardrobes unable to be used. Terrible smell of gas in third bedroom Was totally spoiled by the lack of sufficient towels for number of guests, equipment in kitchen not working, no hot water in kitchen throughout stay.Majority of bulbs in light fittings not working and when last one blew in bathroom no lights at all on the upper floorThis accompanied by lack of local agent information was compounded by the fact when owner contacted local agent she had no key to enter the propertyMonday Tuesday there was no hot water in the property and therefore we vacated the property on Wednesday morning unable to stay in this situation any longerA number of these faults had been recorded months before and not remedied"

"The kitchen, en-suite and bathroom had all the facilities you would expect to find in a modern luxury apartment. The two parking spaces and the lift made staying there easier. The residents in the ground floor apartments were friendly and happy to chat to you. The views you see in the pictures are genuine. Looking out from the balcony we saw ships and yacht passing by on the sea as well model boats on the pond you can see at the front of the building. From the apartment it is a level walk on the promenade of just over half a mile to town, the ferry to Cumbrae and the train station. I would recommend the apartment to anyone and will definitely go back to stay there in the future."

"The cottage is everything you could ask for as a holiday home and much more. Set in the grounds of Mount Stuart, you have full ability to walk the extensive grounds to the shore and through the surrounding woodland - we saw seals and many sea birds at the shore and deer and hares in the woodland. The cottage is fully equiped with everything you might need for your holiday; a welcome pack on arrival is an added bonus; the underfloor heating and double facing woodburning stove are superb - you are provided with plenty of wood and othernecessities for the fire. Overall the isle of Bute is one of the most peaceful places I have been to and the cottage only enhanced that experience."
