"This is a charming cottage with a lovely secluded location and great secure garden for our dog. It's perfectly located for walking in the Shropshire Hills and served as an excellent base for our trip. We didn't mind the absence of electricity and running water in the cottage. Hot and cold water taps were just a few steps outside and the decidedly unVictorian outside bathroom was well appointed. Cooking on the range took a little getting used to but just meant that meals took a little longer to prepare. The thermos we brought to take on walks was filled with hot water each night so we could have hot tea in the morning without lighting the range and a head torch for washing up and night time toilet trips was also a big help. The only area we found the cottage lacking was comfort. Whilst the double bed was comfortable enough, the single beds were not and there was only one vaguely comfortable chair in the house. Clearly Victorians weren't ones for sitting down. Other than that, it's a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

" Beautiful cottage in lovely quiet location. Enjoyed walks and cycles in the countryside as well as visits to local attractions. Ludlow local market every other Thursday not to be missed - the town is gorgeous with the castle having an excellent audio tour. Accommodation was very well equipped, particularly for dining in, or outside in the sunshine. The owners had really thought about what people might need, which can be lacking in other rental cottages. Very comfortable, clean and spacious. We enjoyed fantastic weather but it was almost a shame that we couldn't enjoy the fire as it was too warm to light it. Wish we could have stayed for a month to enjoy more walks of the area - several hills were very tempting but we just didn't have the time! The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Nice to also have horses away from home - stopped me missing mine too much! "

" We loved this little cottage; perfect in size for 2 people with everything we needed. A new kitchen and bathroom with high quality of appliances made it feel so lovely and a cosy living room with fireplace and the bedroom too of a very good standard with a large amount of wardrobe space.Everything we needed was there, from oven gloves to cookie jar!It was also beautifully warm, so much so that a wood stove fire was hardly needed. Nothing to fault it. The propietors next door were very helpful and friendly and the general feel of the place and grounds was that this is a lovely and special gem in the heart of the Shropshire hills. These- by the way- deserve to be explored, even in Winter, with beautiful hills and valleys and even a waterfall close by- that's if the view out of the window of the cottage is not enough! A walker's and country-lovers paradise. "

"Turned up at the house to find the pud across the road had been closed for six months and it was over a mile to the next place to eat .Then was let in to find the house to be extremely cluttered with stuff which it looked like it had been brought from a car boot fair then was shown upstairs at this point I’m glade there was only 3 of use and not 5 as the fifth bed was in the corridor to the bathroom I’m 6ft tall and was impossible to have a shower and no bathroom mirror to shave in . The owner was not very generous with the basics like only 3 tea bags 1 toilet roll I asked if there was any dishwasher tablets the owner reluctantly handed over 3 in very disappointed and spent the minimum amount of time in the house and was glade I only booked 4 nights there"

" We stayed over Christmas & were given a really warm welcome. I loved the cottage. The owners had a Christmas in the living room, beautifully decorated & were really helpful & friendly. The kitchen has everything you could need. The owners live in the same building, and although they are right next to you, the cottage lawn is separated with a gate & feels quite private. We would definitely want to stay there again & found it to be a fantastic location & base for walking. We discovered Shropshire to be a hidden gem for walking and countryside & have already recommended our friends to the area and property. "
