"This is really tricky - and the scores don't tell the whole picture. The accommodation is fine - but sleeping six? We were four and it is tight. The bedrooms are the best part of the property - with great beds and lovely linen - we all slept well. We had two small pets - and the conditions here are similar to other mainstream places where pets are allowed - not on furniture and not in bedrooms - not to be left unattended in the property. We are prepared for this and have two good cages - our dogs are well behaved. In this property they are not allowed to be left in these cages unattended (although they are regularly left in these at home. They are also not allowed to be exercised in the garden of the property and it is not secure so they cannot be allowed out at all in effect. This is compensated for by there being 500 acres of woodland trust within about 100 metres - but it is very restricting if they just want to stretch their legs after a day in the car - some people had clearly left - if you read the visitors book - we were less concerned but it did not feel too dog friendly. Other things in the property that let it down in particular were the leaking toilet - that has clearly been an issue for about a year (again according to the visitors book) we had to wash the mat from the bathroom - and it was not very hygienic or comfortable. Being low season they had also arranged for a wall to be rebuilt during our stay and there were builders there for the whole of one day - that meant we had to have the one window (patio doors) in an already dark room closed - and we had to further restrict our dogs - both from going out and from barking. We would have had to stay in a hotel and have two rooms, 2 adults 2 girls in late teens, and we would have had to put our dogs with sitters had we not used this place - the cost was expensive for three nights - in what I would call low season - but it was technically half term. This would put this small place at about a very high price for a week - low term - that I would expect pretty close to perfect for that in February in England - and it was not. The roads are a nightmare - and it is miles from anywhere. In summer I can imagine it would be beautiful - but if it is any more expensive then it would be unreasonable - not for everyone - but due to its proximity to relatives and convenience with the dogs - we would probably go again - but you need to know what you are getting."

"This is an ideal cottage if you enjoy walking and peace & quiet. Located within the Hucking Estate which is managed by the Woodland Trust, you can roam for hours and ideal if you have a dog. You would definanetley need a transport. However, the cottage was pretty basic. The washer/dryer, oven and dishwasher didn't work properly. The shower leaked under the bath so the bathroom floor needed mopping every time you had a shower. Damp was on the wall in the large bedroom. The wall in question was next to the bathroom. Cobwebs on the ceiling light fittings and around the ceiling walls. Not enough storage for groceries so had to rearrange the work tops to find a space for everything that we had and we didn't have a lot. The kitchen tap constantly dripped and looking back in the visitors book this and the shower had been a long standing problem which hadn't been fixed. The hand and bathroom towels that were left for our use were very 'rough'. It was like drying with sandpaper.Garden was large and semi secure."

"A great spot for the sort of break that I wanted - catching up with friends and exploring Kent and squeezing in a bit of work. It is a very comfortable cottage with everything that you could want for a week's stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the sitting area comfortable and well laid out. Welcome wine, milk and flowers was a nice touch. The cottage itself is along a very sporting country lane but only a couple of miles from a motorway, with lots of country walks on the doorstep and major tourist spots such as Rochester (fantastic second hand bookshop) and Canterbury a reasonably short drive away. I certainly hope to return. (wifi was fine although mobile phone coverage was slightly dodgy - but ok on the road outside!)"

"The stables had been restored very nicely, although I was unimpressed with the bathroom, lacking anywhere to put toiletries. The mop and bucket an addintional feature beside the toilet (to mop up the overflow from the shower) was off putting and the basket of cleaning agents, also beside the toilet. Yes I know I might be fussy, but these things should be out of sight. Bedrooms nice and comfortable .as was the lounge, but a coffee table would have been nice. Didn't know the property was under a flight path, perhaps this should have been mentioned before hand. Of course you can't do anything about this last thing, but it did interfere with my sleep. Having walks on the doorstep was bliss."

"We stayed here 25/08-01/09. Myself, husband, Mum and Step father. The cottage is beautiful and is in a lovely location. There is a pub about a mile away which does lovely food. We would stay here again. The only points I would raise would that wifi needs improving as currently it is only sourced via a wifi extender plug so connection is hit and miss (lucky to get 2meg download speed). Also a small shed in garden to store the parasol etc as currently the parasol is stored in the master bedroom. It would have been nice to have had a couple of garden loungers, especially as weather was so nice."
