"We have got really lovely holiday at Evergreen Cottage! It is located in the wood so we could take advantage of silence, fresh air, being surrounded by trees, flowers, birds...The cottage is situated on the campsite but it was not a problem at all. In front of it there is a wall of forest and the caravans and tents are behind. Theres is a wooden playground for kids and some area in the wood (paths) that we could use as well. It was very convenient as we were there with kids.Evergreen cottage was perfectly clean and well equipped. We've got everything we needed. The only thing we would add is a cupboard or shelf in the bathroom and a few hooks to hang the clothes or towels. The local area is great for walks! Beautiful countryside with many paths and streams.Battle and Hastings are quite close (we've got a car but there is also Crowhurst Rail Station - approximately 20 minutes by walk with three kids). In the village there is nice pub with delicious food...We recommend Evergreen Cottage! :-)"

"A nice property in a quiet location overlooking fields and woodland. We took our large dog and there was plenty of room for him. The garden is fenced at the back adjoining a field that had sheep in it which might be a problem for some pets. A bridleway runs from the farm through fields, one of which was empty so we could let the dog off to run. We did a couple of local walks but did encounter a field of bullocks on the path which was pretty testing (and potentially hazardous), and on another day a few horses (less of a problem although they followed us all the way to the gate). Although the location is good, it is a fair way to anywhere (about 30 minutes to Eastbourne or Hastings). There are pubs within a couple of miles each way and it's just a few miles to Herstmonceux Castle (£6 to enter grounds - enough to stop us going in). It's definitely not Hailsham! For the tech addicts, there is no wi-fi. So if you just want a quiet spot to relax this is definitely the place for you."

"The cottage was a little difficult to find especially as it is situated on a very busy road and it is not easy to slow down to look for a small white post at the side of the road! Access onto the road in the mornings sometimes took a while. This is an old building and there were cobwebs and spiders but there were black cobwebs under the fridge door which had obviously not been cleaned in a while. Also, there was part of a chocolate bar wrapper on the lounge floor which had been left from the previous occupants. We have stayed in many cottages and had welcome packs. They have ranged from a tray with various things on it to a small wicker basket with a lot of things in it. The "welcome pack" at Pigeon Loft was a few tea bags in a container which may or may not have been left by the previous occupant, a pint of milk and two Danish pastries."

"A great base from which to explore the East Sussex / Kent region. Size of the accommodation was very generous for 4 people and Leo (the Lakeland Terrier) loved exploring the rear garden. The level of equipment and furnishing were to a good standard. The George Inn, Robertsbridge is well worth a visit for that extra special meal with friends. Rye is a good place to visit for antiques and small independent shops. Brighton is also a good day out with the marina well worth a visit for outlet shopping and dining out. We did have some problems with road works on the A21, but hopefully they have finished by now "

"Cornbrash Farm Cottage is a recent conversion and has been completed to the highest quality. We were very impressed by the facilities, the quality and tastefulness of the decoration and equipment. The owner was warm and welcoming. We definitely got the impression that nothing was too much trouble and we had been left eggs, milk, bread and biscuits. There were fresh flowers in a vase.We spent a very pleasant week in our holiday cottage. We enjoyed the quiet location and the comfortable environment. The location is convenient for exploring the local area though everything is a drive away."
