      A very well located property.

Great for two couples as the bedrooms are located at each end of the flat with the kitchen & living area in-between giving good privacy. The flat is located on the first floor, good views from all windows. The flat doesn't have a separate entrance, you access the front door by going through the hotel (similar to a hotel room). Food in the downstairs cafe is good and a welcome basket provided. Very comfortable beds. The only negatives are that as the flat is within the hotel, you don't have full control over things like heating and the showers are a bit wimpy. The Hotel is under new ownership and the owners were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. We would stay here again.

Swaledale is a beautiful area, with good walking straight from the accommodation.

Town facilities are a fair distance away, although there is a small shop in Muker, the next village. The apartment was perfect for two, with comfortable seats in the living room and queen size comfortable bed. The proprietors were very welcoming and helpful, with wine, milk, and biscuits provided on arrival. Don’t rely on eating in their restaurant, though. You may be able to sometimes, but they are not open every evening. The bar is available downstairs. So we mostly cooked in the apartment. If the proprietor would like to make one small improvement, a shelf above the washbasin in the en suite would be useful.

Ghyllfoot Apartment was an absolutely perfect base for our walking holiday. The apartment was clean, comfortable and in a great location, with fabulous walks straight from the property. The Swaledale bus stops just 2 minutes away providing a car free way of extending the start point of walks from further up and down the Dale. We thoroughly enjoyed eating and drinking in the pub across the road. It’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It’s worth stocking up on provisions over the weekend as several of the shops in Reeth are closed on Mondays and don’t forget to fill up with fuel before you arrive.

The owner (Linda) runs the tearoom downstairs (times vary) and is very hospitable. She has a keen interest that her guests staying upstairs, feel welcomed and we for sure felt this to be the case. Everything is in place for you to enjoy a very clean and relaxing stay. Its very light and spacious for 2 people and the outside seating area is fine. The nearest large supermarket is in Catterick and Reeth has a general store with limited supplies. Otherwise Richmond would be the nearest large town to shop for essentials.
