What our customers say about their holidays

    • Archana - Verified booking

The best part about the apartment was the choice of decor.

It was tastefully done, comfortable and there was nothing that we missed. Everything right from milk, bread, short bread was kept by the owner before we reached and was a delightful welcome. The apolstry looked like it was tastefully done and picked up. There was no interference from anyone around either and added plus it was at a walkable distance from the beach. The main thing that the building lacked was in the design of the house. The roof is low on the top floor and stoops down on the ends causing us to bump our heads on it everytime we wanted to pick up something from the floor. Second thing was the stairs, they are every small. If you are slightly bigger like my husband, it will be difficult to walk around them. In fact he had a nasty fall during the last night that we were leaving and had to be given a first aid. So if you have young children who are not big enough to be careful around the stairs or are of bigger built you might want to look at this as a tip to be careful about. Having said that the owner also had a first aid kit which came handy during the fall. It was a delightful house and would have been better had the design of the house a bit more practical for families.

I took my 3 young children on a short break during the half term week in October.

We all had a wonderful time at The Nab House! It was beautiful. It had a great layout for families as you could see the all the living areas downstairs. I could easily keep an eye on the children while I cooked etc. The bedrooms were also fantastic! There was great flexibility with the rooms and an extra sofa bed in a room off the twin so all my children could sleep together if they wanted to. It was a few minutes walk for the beach. The beach was brilliant and we spent a long time exploring and looking at the RNLI station. It was Halloween while we were there so we went trick or treating and I found the community very friendly. I felt this property was very good value for money as it was well situated and well equipped with plenty of parking. We went to sandown a few times and black gang chine. All within easy reach of the property. I would return to this property without a doubt. It was one of the best properties we’ve stayed in. I totally recommend The Nab House. Thank you for such a pleasant stay. Hopefully we will see you again soon. :)

We enjoyed our week at the Deck Studio.

Our host and hostess were keen for us to feel at home and we were thankful for the welcoming items that they included for us. We appreciated them providing a new cafetiere straight away when we mentioned the old one was missing. There was plenty of hot water for our needs and the portable electric heater did a good job when the temperature dipped. The accommodation was spacious considering it was a studio flat and we liked the privacy, bearing in mind the owners lived above us. We liked the airy feel of the flat and it afforded a splendid view of the English Channel. With the vagaries of the English weather, we were grateful for the wide screen TV and the DVD player. We would have liked a little more crockery and glass tumblers would have been a welcome addition. There was no oven which limited what we were able to cook. We would not recommend this property to anyone who has mobility issues, but for us it was a decent base for a happy week in Ventnor.

The rental is significantly let down by the dreadful lack of water pressure.

With 4 adults and 2 children staying here it was almost impossible to get any kind of a shower without someone running a tap or flushing a toilet resulting in the top floor shower completely stopping, or the 1st floor shower switching to ice cold mode :( Photos of the listing are accurate, it is spacious, comfortable accommodation with tasteful furnishings and a well appointed kitchen (lots of cutlery, crockery, sharp knives, pans & serving dishes). A 4 slice toaster rather than a 2 would reflect that this is accommodation for families rather than just a couple We were completely perplexed by the grill (meaning we couldn't switch it on / use it) so would suggest the instructions are expanded The garden is not visible from the accommodation making it a challenging space to use if you have children in your party Very close to the beach & a quiet road

The property is poorly equiped, it is not up to modern standards.

It is not possible to have a comfortable shower, no shower curtain is present which means you u have to squat in the bath and use the hand held shower to rinse yourself down. On small dim light over the sink for the bathroom. We had to leave it on 10mins to warm up before you could see anything. No curtains in the dressing area or the glass kitchen door which leads to the bedroom meaning bedroom too light to sleep well. Bed uncomfortable. No storage for food in the kitchen and cooking facilities poor. We stayed two nights and then left. Possibly an error on our part not reading the listing properly but definitely not worth the money we paid and not up to modern stds or expectations for 2022. Very disappointing
