What our customers say about their holidays

    • Caroline - Verified booking

We were extremely impressed with our marvellous hosts Colin and Michelle, who were so friendly and as hosts went way beyond the call of duty.

On arrival we were surprised to find homemade cake in our fridge, not to mention milk, tea, coffee and various cereals to choose from and one of my Sons has got a new appreciation for marmalade as Michelle had left an ever ending supply of marmalade and jam also. As my Son and I both thought how appropriate as he had watched the film "Paddington" in the boat on the way over. The apartment was exactly as described on your website, "beside the Sea",which was so convenient as all we had to do was cross the road, which saved having to take the car. In actual fact the apartment is in an idillic location as all facilities are closeby and you can walk everywhere and lLandudno town itself is only 15 minutes walk and less than 5 minutes in the car. We found a lovely Chinese take-away around the corner, which also does European dishes and there is an Newsagent beside this. Having a Washing Machine and dryer was a Godsend as it saved me a lot of work when I came back home as I have 5 Children and the washing machine is constantly on. Michelle also left us a large supply of towels which I found really helpful especially when going to the beach everyday. Colin and Michelle did regular checks to make sure that everything was okay and asking if they could do anything else or if they had forgotten anything, which of course they had not. I have to say that I have never met two such conscientious hosts before, who both give 100% at their job. The Scenery around lLandudno is absolutely stunning and I have never seen anything like it, especially going around the "Great Orme"'the mountains with the goats and sheep scattered and then looking down into the sea. We actually saw the sun going down last Tuesday at 9.45 pm, as we went onto the "Great Orme" for a second time that day as we were so impressed that we could not stay away. Our 2 Sons, one just 18 and the other almost 15 loved everything about lLandudno and both were very sad leaving the Apartment, as were we and we all cannot wait to return again DV. As a family we cannot thank both Colin and Michelle enough for enabling us to have such a fabulous holiday and thank you to "Sykes Cottages", for choosing the best hosts possible

What a lovely couple, Colin and Michele went above and beyond, so much thought has gone into their holiday home, their home was comfortable, clean, tidy and welcoming, there was plenty of info, even down to what places serve gluten free food.

We were left a delicious gf cheesecake on arrival ( we stayed an extra day so got some delicious gf lemon drizzle cake) along with milk jams and marmalade and other supplies. Even dogs get looked after here, one of the items being a cool mat for the pooches. There's a fridge freezer, washing machine and tumbledrier iron and board, comfy double bed, plenty of plugs and long mirrors, theres a good shower in the bathroom, and towels and dressing gowns provided. Theres also a set of bunk beds, with the bottom being a bigger bed than the top, and theres also a sofa bed in the living room, tv with Netflix, everything you could need. There's a lovely little secluded walled garden at the back. We found beside the sea so relaxing and peaceful, I can't believe how quiet it was if it wasn't for the seagulls then there was no noise at all, beautiful holiday , we loved Llandudno there is lots to do and see, plenty of restaurants and pubs, shops in the town, and only about 15 mins steady flat walk from beside the sea. Llandudno beach is a pebble beach, very long lovely walk. At Beside the sea there is a beach at the top of the road, litteraly only a couple of mins away, we never went to the beach so cant say what it was like. Places to visit are, the great orme, we went on the tram, but you can go on the cable cars. Some of the great places we visited were, Port Merion, colwyn, Beaumaris, Betws-y-coed, and for a bit of retail therapy on the way we stopped at Cheshire oaks. Thank you to Colin and Michele for letting us stay in your holiday home, we would definatly stay here again when we come back to Llandudno.

A very enjoyable week at this recently refurbished holiday home, very clean, homemade cake slices on our arrival.

Yes the driveway was a bit tight for our 4 x 4, but on road parking was no problem, Michelle said they are taking the wall down anyway. We were very lucky with the weather a mixture of mainly sunny days, with a lush sea breeze. This location of the flat is heaven for beach loving dogs and people, we absolutely loved it and a lovely coastal walk to Conwy nearby and round to Lladudno with beautiful views. The views from the Cable car were breathtaking. I liked the quietness in comparison to Llandudno North beach. Bus service and land train go backwards and forwards to Llandudno shops, pier, tram, cable car regularly. I also walked about 20 mins. There is a Onestop shop nearby, really handy, also fish and chips. The freezer is a reasonable size. Coffee, tea, milk, jam, marmalade, honey all provided as well as many other things. The bed was very comfortable, shower lovely. Wifi good. Our large Huskymute absolutely loved the enclosed garden, lying on the cool grass and also the enclosed patio. Michelle, Colin and the gardener could not of been more helpful, all lovely friendly people.

The owner was very helpful and attentive.

The property was the cleanest of its type that we have stayed in. There were some very nice touches including a food treat waiting for us. The property comes with excellent WiFi and a Netflix subscription. However we were not able to stay the entire week due to the weather, which was atrocious for June especially as we had a dog with us and were unable to access many indoor facilities. The only other comment would be the parking arrangements. There is the option of parking half on the pavement at the front of the property, which is on a narrow road, or driving up the side of the property along a long, narrow drive to a fairly capacious hard standing which does offer space to turn your car to drive out frontwards. However the long, narrow drive is, well, narrow. We could just get our 2008 model year Ford CMAX with the mirrors retracted up it but it was very tight. I would suggest anything much wider would struggle. This fact should be made clearer in the listing to avoid inconvenience to guests.

We enjoyed a really relaxing holiday, the accomodation met all our various needs.

I needed to find somewhere without stairs to suit my 91 year mother and she was very comfortable moving around the flat. I shared the bunk bed with my 12 year old daughter, the bottom bunk was very comfortable and plenty big enough for an adult of my size 5ft 9. The large HD TV and access to Netflix was a bonus. The garden at the back is detached from the property and is a bit of a sun trap , we were lucky with the weather so it was nice to have a space to eat outside. I have been to Llandudno many times over the years and i have never stopped at a better place, the West shore is my favourite part so being able to stroll to it within minutes was fantastic. It is a very peaceful and quiet area. A good base to explore the surrounding area, easy to get out of Llandudno quickly and guaranteed parking when you get back. If i repeat this excercise with my Mum next year then this will definitely be the first place i would look at.
