"A group of 7 of us (3 adults and 4 children under 10) all stayed at S5953 during February half term. Actually this was our second visit but the cottage wasn't yet on TripAdvisor to write a review. All I can say is that the cottage is perfect. It is beautifully decorated, contemporary but with a very coastal cottage feel. Spotlessly clean, warm, spacious and well kitted out with everything you could possible need. It also has a wonderful sea view and is located right across the road from the sea. Portknockie is a peaceful village with a lovely harbour and lots of good walks, caves and beaches to explore. There is also a local Spar that is open til 8pm most nights or the Cullen Co-Op is just a couple of minutes drive away. I have to mention the beds! - all of the beds were comfortable ,the bedlinen was soft and clean and it was an absolutely joy to get into bed at the end of the day. Even though the weather was lovely, it was still cold so we spent a lot of time indoors enjoying this cosy cottage with the wood burning fire roaring! We will definitely be back again shortly. Simply perfect and we all have a fantastic time.."

"This is an outstanding cottage with wonderful charm and character, a real home from home. It is set in a picturesque location, in a coastal fishing village, on the Moray firth. The cottage is spacious, full of character and wonderfully decorated. It has everything you could possibly need! Clean, cosy and with some lovely personal touches, including a book containing information about the history of the cottage - fascinating - an old fisherman's cottage transformed into a contemporary coastal holiday home. The cottage has beautiful views out to sea. Portknockie harbour is quaint and peaceful, and Bow Fiddle Rock is just a few minutes walk from the house. This offered us incredible views and wonderful photo opportunities. We'd recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise behind Bow Fiddle - absolutely stunning! The Moray Coast Trail is a stones throw away and runs for 50 miles along the coast; perfect for cycling, running or walking along. We loved seeing seals from Portessie Bay, Ospreys from the top of the Bin of Cullen and we're looking forward to coming back to see the dolphins! We thoroughly recommend a holiday here!"

"Huge big house with plenty of room. Great kitchen and bathrooms. Nice fire which we sat around every night with a wee drink and game of Trivial Pursuits. There was the bonus of a home cinema projector. I would say it was a good half an hour to Grantown on Spey and a good 50 mins to Aviemore. We spent most of our time there at the likes of Rothiemurchus and Landmark. There are also many distilleries very close by - Glenlivet is a 5 miniute drive away. It could do with a good spring clean and as the house is so big more than one person is needed to carry out that task. But overall it was clean and tidy when we arrived. There has been some serious money spent in the kitchen and bathrooms and the decor is lovely. The bedrooms could benefit from some wardrobes as hanging space was virtually non existent. The house appears under renovation in the rooms marked private and judging by the standard thus far, the accommodation will end up very nice indeed."

"S80993 was a little bit of heaven - what a beautiful setting so tranquil a place to truly relax. The cottage was spotless, comfortable and the view of the sea was amazing. The hot tub was an excellent place to relax in and enjoy at any time of the day. There are lots of little sea/harbour locations to visit; Portsoy was really beautiful and locked in the past, Portknockie where the fiddle and bow rock formation was, Cullen is also worth a visit. The rockpool cafe was definitely worth a visit but best 2 book in advance as most tables are reserved. Opposite the cafe is a beautiful gift shop and the lady serving us was just lovely. The Pozzi cafe in Buckie served a good lunch but the hotel further up the road was very disappointing and food not great😣.. it would make it better if Buckie itself had more good eating places. The Highland Widlife Park is also worth a visit we even got a small glimpse of baby polar bear with mum."

"A well deserved 5 star rating. Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need and more. We were an extended family group aged from 9-73 and it suited everyone no matter what age. Lots of local information was provided and the food recommendations were great. From the best fish and chips ever in Portknockie itself, the Rockpool Cafe In Cullen where you have to reserve seats it's so busy to the Galley Restaurant in Whitehills. All were great. We did a 2 hour drive to Channory Point to see dolphins and boy did they put on a show for us and then the next night my daughter saw them from her bedroom window in S5953. We loved S5953 and no better praise than from my grandson who reckons his granny books the best holidays. The cottage is a credit to Fiona and Volker."
