"Hythe was a surprise, quite delightful and we enjoyed the town and what it had to offer. The issue was more with the cottage itself in that upon arrival we found the inside tidy but in need of some major cleaning i.e. walls are dirty, doors are dirty, cobwebs inside both upstairs windows and in corners of main floor. The wet room bathroom suffered from a bad smell, likely due to plumbing issues and the shower is a problem in terms of water everywhere (explains the wetroom approach but in an older cottage property without adequate ventilation it is totally wrong). The furniture in the lounge area is incredibly uncomfortable especially the couch which is worn and well past its useful date. We had an electrical problem with the lights not going off in the lounge due to a fault but that was taken care of immediately the next morning. The owners were quite diligent about that and this was much appreciated. The Smart TV is a good size and the wifi excellent but the freeview signal is pretty weak except for BBC 1, 2 and 4. All other channels would not come in on a regular basis. The use of Netflix, given the excellent wifi, was the choice to turn to. The heat did cause issues with the lower door lock and it should be looked at (after about 20 minutes of fiddling with it we chose not to lock that part relying only on the automatic latch higher up). Also, a fan would have helped on some of the warmer nights especially if you have four people staying over, we only had two of us so we kept all the windows and doors open to allow for the air to flow through but it could be difficult to do that and respect privacy if there are more than 2 people sharing. In addition, clients should be advised that the Turkish bbq restaurant backs out onto the back of this property and that they can expect to smell the bbq (which was okay for us but might not be for others) and on a few occasions a garbage smell does make its way in through the back patio door when it is open. But, if you want to be conveniently located to the restaurants - of which there are a number of good ones on the High Street- you need to accept the aromas that they will make. However, these are observations of ours that in the end did not impact our holiday so as to not make it enjoyable. We enjoyed our stay, Hythe is worth the visit, and because we have stayed in a number of different cottages across the UK when visiting from Canada we had expectations that, overall, were not met. We would hope that in the long run the owners (again who were quite nice about dealing with the lighting problem) will correct at least what they can."

"We stayed here as 3 adults and 1 baby and overall we found the cottage very good and it met our needs for our stay perfectly. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the dunes and it meant that we could carry our baby to the beach and didn't have to worry about pushchairs / baby seats getting dirty and sandy (we saw many other parents struggling!). The property is generally in very good condition and is well decorated throughout and is made to feel very homely with some nice little decorations to add to the feel. It is well equipped and the kitchen had basically everything we could hope for in a holiday rental to help make your stay easier, including a good table and baby seat. The bedrooms were good size and comfortable for us, even with a cot (provided) in the room there was plenty of space. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was excellent! There were a few minor things that we didn't like; The toilet was "generous" and always left a present behind after every flush. There was no mattress for the baby cot. Given that we came from abroad this was a issue for us and we had to buy one specifically for our stay. The floor boards were squeaky, could be an issue if you have young kids in bed. The TV volume would go up and down all the time. It was worse on TV channels with poorly quality. The gardens front and rear were fully pebbled. This made it not a nice and welcoming place to sit outside The internet was a bit slow, but I assume this is an issue with Camber in general being such a small rural place, so maybe I'm being a bit harsh here! The pictures are a good representation of the property although some suggested that it actually is better than the photos! And I would not hesitate to stay again if we decide to come back to Camber."

"I've been staying in cottages for many years and Claire's Cottage is my favourite so far. Despite being tiny it is light, comfortable, cosy and very well equipped with a pretty garden. It has been restored beautifully retaining nearly all the original and historic features and it's interesting to look at the album showing photos of the restoration. The location is excellent. You can walk into Hythe (if you have the energy to walk back up the hill) which is a historic little town of great character and there are plenty of interesting places to see in the Romney Marshes without having to go far. If you have a wet day use it to go to Dungeness on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway! I have already recommended this cottage to a friend and I am sure I shall visit it again in the future."

"My wife an I have just spent a lovely week at The Sand Dunes. Great location. Very close to the beach and local amenities (about two hundred yards from the beach, bus stops and shops). Good location for day trips. If you like walking, you can walk into Rye (about four miles). There are buses which run regularly in both directions including Rye, Hastings, Dymchurch, Folkestone, Dover etc. The property is clean with all the amenities you need. Plenty of space for two adults and two children. The beach is perfect for young families, sandy with lifeguards. Another major advantage is the private parking bay, just a few yards from the house - saving you £12 a day parking fees. We would certainly recommend staying at this cottage and if we go back to this area, we would like to stay there again."

"The Sand Dunes had everything you would want in a holiday home, I felt every effort had been made to make it a home from home. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. The housekeepers had left many extras, small things that sometimes you have to go out and buy when you arrive at a holiday cottage, salt, coffee etc. There is a short walk from the parking area down a small path to the house and for me this wasn't a problem, but for my partner who has a mobility problem meant after a day out he did struggle. The garden at the back of the house was also difficult for him as the whole area is covered in large pebbles which he couldn't walk on. However we enjoyed our stay at the Sand Dunes, a most comfortable and relaxing house, and a big bonus was we had amazing weather!!!."
