"Relaxed English seaside break, visited interesting places, took long walks and photos. The double glass doors open onto an uninterrupted view of the sea. We had breakfast each morning outside on the decking. The bay - rock pools, pleasant walk by the sea and "wow look at those cliffs" type - is very close. Having a key to the steps through the cliff was a novelty. Apparently the writer of 'The 39 Steps' used to live nearby. * en suite shower room with a shower that I could actually get to work properly; plenty of clean towels * welcome pack - bread, milk, butter, juice * kitchen - including fridge, oven, toaster, microwave and kettle * good Wi-Fi - we didn't play games or stream films, but for Google searches and email it was very reliable * huge TV with Sky package and dvd player with large dvd collection * effective hair dryer * good quality steam iron and ironing board * air cooling unit * food shops, towns and beaches a short car drive away * no problem accessing the private estate * easy parking for one car * our hosts were friendly and helpful but gave us our space Can't fault the accommodation. Parking in local towns is expensive and the machines don't always take notes or cards. There is some road parking and our host had some suggestions locally. In Broadstairs you can pay for the car park using your mobile phone and card. It is also probably worth checking out routes that avoid Broadstairs town centre if you don't need to go there."

"The cottage was the ideal getaway for a few days, set within beautiful countryside yet only a few minutes drive from the coast. Taking the footpath through sheep fields to Rye takes a pleasant 30 minutes and you could hardly find a more charming little town with so many historic buildings - truly stunning! The cottage was spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed. It was delightful to draw back the curtains in the morning and be greeted by the 3 tame sheep saying hello - we spent lots of time with them as they are so cute! The view from the decking outside the bedroom was idyllic, over the sheep fields towards the rooftops of Rye to the sea in the distance. The friendly owners made sure we had settled in, then left us to ourselves but were on hand if we needed them. The cottage was very well equipped with lots of nice little extras, although (to be really picky) it would have been useful to have a small freezer. We visited a few nearby National Trust places as well as Dungeness - well worth a visit for its "desert" scenery. All in all, S13998 is a brilliant place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting but with easy access to many interesting places. Definitely recommended!"

"We loved our stay at S13998 and really appreciated the little touches to make us feel welcome - homemade scones, choccies and wine. Our 5-year old daughter also loved the sheep that are almost right outside the front door and really enjoyed that pellets had been left to enable her to feed them! The main bedroom on the first floor is extremely cosy with lovely bedding and lots of light courtesy of the Velux windows. The living room is compact but absolutely perfect for the three of us and there were some great DVDs to keep us entertained. The only downside about the property was the kitchen/bathroom areas...both are nicely furnished with pretty much everything you would want but, unfortunately, there's no heating in the kitchen and, unless you're using the oven, the floor (in particular) is chilly. This didn't stop us from having a perfectly nice break and we'd happily return but it might be worth installing central heating in the kitchen and bathrooms to guarantee that same cosy feel that we had in the living room/bedroom."

"We spent 2wks here with two of our children their husband/wife and our two young grandsons. The house was spacious, so we never felt on top of each other, and very well equipped. The pool table went down a dream and the garden was ideal for adults and children alike. We made good use of the BBQ. Cleaners arrived after first week and changed the beds and supplied clean towels, which was an unexpected surprise. Our bed (downstairs) was a dream, but my daughter/son said the beds upstairs weren't that comfortable-but they would suffer them to stay there again. The agent was very accommodating and dealt with a query promptly and effectively. A pleasant walk down to the local beach and things to do a short drive away. We holiday in England on a regular basis and this was one of the nicest properties we have stayed in. We would definitely book this house again."

"The flat is bigger than expected, very cosy and well equipped with anything you might need on your holidays - much more a real living place than a holiday home. It is full of books and information about the area, including a number of maps and lots of leaflets about the attractions of the area. The place has WiFi, a total of 3 TV sets (one in each bedroom and one in the comfortable living room) and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you can imagine. The two bedrooms sleep up to 5 people, and the bathroom has a giant bathtub. Although there is no private parking, there's a public car park at close distance, as well as the local shop and 2 pubs.We would always happily book again!"
