"We (two adults, two children of 12 and 14 years) were warmly welcomed by the owners who live right next door! They have explained everything important to the functions of the devices in the apartment and also us. informed about shopping and good restaurants nearby. They were always very friendly and helpful, if you have any questions about the environment. The apartment is comfortably furnished and attractively designed. Crockery and cutlery are available in sufficient quantity for four people. Especially beautiful and quaint are the well-preserved historic stone walls made of flint! The property is a great starting point for all kinds of activities - be it to the beaches in the area (especially beautiful Joss Bay but also Minnis Bay in Birchington itself - there you can eat well with very nice sea view!) Or the numerous historical sites and Places in Kent (Canterbury, Sandwich, Leeds Castle ... etc). London could also be reached by train from Birchington Station in two hours (driving during the week AFTER 800 AM, which significantly reduces costs!)! When traveling by car, however, you always have more time than expected or as the Navi indicates - the roads are sometimes so narrow that two cars do not pass each other or in such a happy state (comparable to dirt roads in Germany) ). The beautiful Quex Park with the Quex House and the Powell-Cotton Museum is within walking distance of the apartment (about 900 m). Our children and we were very excited about this great and varied holiday and will be back!"

"We booked S105480 at the very last minute for a 3 night New Year’s Eve getaway and found the booking procedure and contact with the Team very helpful. What a surprise when we arrived! This small quirky little cottage certainly surpassed all our expectations! The pictures really don’t do this little gem justice. It provided everything we wanted and more! The welcome pack was very thoughtful - with tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh milk on arrival - what a lovely touch. The owner had contacted us whilst we were en route to say the cottage was ready and the heating was on! The property was immaculately clean and extremely well equipped - everything we needed was there. Lovely cosy little living room with electric stove and cosy soft throws all added to the ambience. Comfy bed in a larger than expected bedroom. Modern, clean, hot shower - perfect! Another extremely welcome addition was the car parking permit which we could use freely around the town (as parking is definitely at a premium). The cottage is in a wonderful position - just a few minutes walk to the centre of Sandwich. The closest pub serves amazing food and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. This was our first visit to Sandwich and we can’t wait to return to S105480 in the spring to make use of it’s pretty courtyard garden. If you are wondering whether to book this cottage or not - please don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed! Anne & Terry January 2019"

"The cottage was the ideal getaway for a few days, set within beautiful countryside yet only a few minutes drive from the coast. Taking the footpath through sheep fields to Rye takes a pleasant 30 minutes and you could hardly find a more charming little town with so many historic buildings - truly stunning! The cottage was spotlessly clean with a really comfy bed. It was delightful to draw back the curtains in the morning and be greeted by the 3 tame sheep saying hello - we spent lots of time with them as they are so cute! The view from the decking outside the bedroom was idyllic, over the sheep fields towards the rooftops of Rye to the sea in the distance. The friendly owners made sure we had settled in, then left us to ourselves but were on hand if we needed them. The cottage was very well equipped with lots of nice little extras, although (to be really picky) it would have been useful to have a small freezer. We visited a few nearby National Trust places as well as Dungeness - well worth a visit for its "desert" scenery. All in all, S13998 is a brilliant place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful setting but with easy access to many interesting places. Definitely recommended!"

"We loved our stay at S13998 and really appreciated the little touches to make us feel welcome - homemade scones, choccies and wine. Our 5-year old daughter also loved the sheep that are almost right outside the front door and really enjoyed that pellets had been left to enable her to feed them! The main bedroom on the first floor is extremely cosy with lovely bedding and lots of light courtesy of the Velux windows. The living room is compact but absolutely perfect for the three of us and there were some great DVDs to keep us entertained. The only downside about the property was the kitchen/bathroom areas...both are nicely furnished with pretty much everything you would want but, unfortunately, there's no heating in the kitchen and, unless you're using the oven, the floor (in particular) is chilly. This didn't stop us from having a perfectly nice break and we'd happily return but it might be worth installing central heating in the kitchen and bathrooms to guarantee that same cosy feel that we had in the living room/bedroom."

"We had a very peaceful and relaxed weekend at the cottage with our dog Frankie. The cottage is very pretty, and well supplied with home comforts. It is a good base to visit Rye, Winchelsea and Camber Sands. Rye was a suprising treasure and very dog friendly. The real down side was that I could not walk from the cottage with the dog, other than a small lane leading to three other properties. The B road next to the cottage was not safe to walk along, as there is no path and traffic is travelling at speed. This meant we had to take the car when ever we wanted to get out and explore the surrounding country side."
