"This was our 1st visit to S14211 having been recommended by our son & his family who visited August 2017. It had a lot to live up to compared to our previous venue that we had stayed at twice a year for the last 15 years & had recently closed down due to owners retirement. (We are former Island residents). The en-suite bedroom was ideal for our 39 yr old autistic son, especially having a TV, which saved us having to bring one for him! Generally there were no real issues except no mattress protector on the 5 ft (2nd bedroom bed). Also in that bedroom the wardrobe doors should be the other way round so that the mirrored door can be used without banging elbows on the adjacent wall & standing in the small gap between the robe & chest of drawers (there are no other mirrors in that room). The stair gate should be easily removable (negotiating it to carry suitcases /base up & down is a pain) & should be available as necessary). Oven & grill pan needs a good proper clean ( didn't use it - where was the grill pan handle?) Lower dishwasher basket/tray needs at least new wheels or replacing. Having made all these comments, we are returning for 2 weeks in September as we booked this at that the same time as our most recent visit - we did really ENJOY our stay at S14211 - comfortable beds & sofas, many extras like you have at home. plenty of spare linen/towels + the tea/coffee/milk & bottle of wine there on arrival + very friendly & helpful caretaker Danny set the tone for an enjoyable stay - thank you!"

"We enjoyed our stay in this cottage, very conveniently located for town centre shops, restaurants, bars, public transport, the minster, the museum, the cinema and the attractive riverside with its little ferry across to Wick and the longer boat trip to Mudeford. Bournemouth, Dorchester and the New Forest are also in easy day-out distance. We had travelled by train, but the off-road parking was useful when relatives called. For a couple, the spacious main bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space was fine, but the second bedroom looked as if it might be rather cramped for another two adults. Traffic noise had been mentioned in other reviews and, although we were aware of it at times, we didn't find it very intrusive. It was made clear in the property description that the bathroom was on the ground floor, which, together with the narrow staircase, might not suit everyone. With so much to do nearby, we didn't use the garden area but thought it would benefit from a bit of TLC, and the outdoor table and seating might have appealed more if not so close to the house next door."

"This is a great wee cottage, although you might not think that when you first see it, stuck in the middle of terraced houses. My wife and I stayed here for two weeks from late June. Inside, first impressions were of a well looked after; clean, tidy and well equipped cottage with no hint of any nasty odours. The information booklet was well laid out and the cooker, washing machine easy to use. The shower was a treat and there were ample towels to cover our two week stay. There is a double bedroom downstairs and a twin room upstairs. Outside there is a small fenced in garden area with; rattan sofa and chairs, a table with two chairs and a rotary dryer. We loved the garden with its tubs of plants. There is even a hose and tap if you want to give the plants a wee drink. Location wise this place is right where you would want to be. The beach is only 5 minutes away in either direction. There is also a Sainsbury and Co-op about two minutes away. I would recommend this cottage for any family up to 4."

"Our purpose in choosing this cottage was two-fold: visiting a textile art exhibition in West Hampshire and visiting family in West Sussex. The location also gave us the opportunity to be in a rural area remote from busy traffic with simple walks along quiet lanes for daily exercise. S49591 was perfect, although the weather wasn't, but in January what can one expect? We thoroughly enjoyed the standard of accommodation it offered and loved relaxing here, doing nothing much, alternating with strenuous days of driving around two adjacent counties. We can't really comment on local amenities because they weren't a priority on this visit. But be in no doubt about the location; once the car could be left parked for the day it's a stunningly beautiful part of the country to either enjoy on foot or through a cottage window in a comfortable armchair!"

"We were not happy with the fact that both the numbers we were given had nothing to do with the property, they knew nothing about giving out permits for the car park and they told me they were sick of people ringing them about the property. One night it felt quite cold as the front room gets no sun and it was quite chill, I went to the handbook and it said you put some heating on by turning up the thermostat in the hall when I went to that it said we could not use it as it was controlled by a HIVE. There were fires in every room that were out of commission so they could not be used. The bath felt as though it was about give away under you when you got a shower. The garden was very unkempt with weeds coming through the paving stones. We felt the wiring was not very good in the kitchen as everything was on extension leads."
