"Stayed at cottage from 6th July-13th July, location, scenery and hot tub fabulous although hot tub was not the cleanest when we arrived although my husband had mentioned this concern to owners after reading previous visitors reviews. They ought to be maintaining hot tub daily especially when a party of 6 as we were are using it daily. The cottage itself was a huge disappointment 😔 back bedrooms bed is badly broken and expect a visit to chiropractors after your stay. Extractor for cooker not working, dining table leg broken, one of single beds broken, practically no running hot water in bathroom sink and not much power in shower. No bike shed as stated, front bedroom wardrobe doors broken, bbq filthy on arrival, hoover smelt of wet dog which was absolutely disgusting also musty smell in bedroom cupboard aswell as throughout whole cottage on arrival. Overall was really dissatisfied would recommend overhaul and replacement of many items especially the hoover. In no way good value for money costing much more than it’s worth. Certainly would not be returning 😡😡"

"A really lovely lodge. Absolutely spotless. Could have eaten off the floor. The bedding was also lovely - however all of us struggled with the thinness of the mattresses. The shower in the main bathroom is a total nightmare as the water pressure is so strong the shower head roams around by itself. The water was absolutely everywhere on more than one occasion. The hot tub was a dream and we spent many hours in the there. But that wooden deck is a so so slippery (there are warning signs around) but we all really struggled with how slippy it was. The heating was also really difficult to manage and seemed to have a mind of its own. You are really out of the way staying here - we definitely under estimated how remote it was. There is no phone signal at all in the lodge, however there is wifi available. Kitchen had everything you could think of and more. Overall we were very happy with our holiday and would recommend to others."

"We had a great time for two weeks using the lodge as a base for my daughters wedding. The furnishings are older than the house itself and lend to the place a lot of character. Location is superb if you like it quiet with great scenery and a central base to explore from. One thing I loved is plenty of heat and hot water as you need it. We were preparing for a wedding with a house full of guests and still never ran out of hot water. The lodge loses marks a little for having little worktop space in the kitchen which is frustrating when you are catering for a party. Also approach track needs attention. You don't need a 4x4 today but if it deteriorates too much more then maybe. None of that would stop me from staying again though and I recommend it to others."

"S49941 is in a great location. Close enough to the village but also far enough away for piece and quite. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh are about an hour away. The cottage had a few niggles, no name plate on the cottage. When we arrived in the dark I had to guess we were at the right place. The decking around the hot tub hasn’t been swept for awhile, orange slices, fag ends and tea lights littered the decking. No outside light when in the hot tub, The open fire hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time, I emptied a bin bags worth of ash from under the grate. The living/dinning room feels quite small with such a large melted tv on the wall above the fire. A lot of the kitchen utensils are broken. I probably wouldn’t book again"

"We had a great stay at S49941. The cottage is so well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. From tea, coffee, and sugar, to children's toys, board games, an X-box and games, and even a bed and bowls for the dog! The hot tub was great, however could do with some lighting for the dark evenings. The enclosed garden was great and our dog had a great time exploring it. For anyone with children (or mischievous dogs) there is a small burn in the garden that is open, our dog had a great time splashing about but I'd be wary of leaving children playing unsupervised. All in all this cottage is great value for money and we have all said that we would definitely return for another stay at some point!"
