"Beautiful cottage and location. However, the cottage was very cold on arrival and took a long time (with heaters at full blast and log fire burning) for some of the rooms to warm up. The heating was expensive to run as the hallway was not heated and extremely cold, causing cold draughts to go into every adjoining room. We used our £30 heating limit within the first 24 hours. We turned off the water heater and the towel rail in the bathroom to conserve energy and turned down the radiators in each room, but kept the log fires burning in the two main downstairs rooms to maintain warmth there. The provision on logs was generous and unlimited, which was very good. The bedrooms were the only rooms that maintained their warmth with the heaters (on all the time). We had to keep doors closed at all times to keep heat in each room, which isn't very relaxing when there are 2 kids and 2 dogs. We loved the cottage and the location, it's well worth a visit in warmer weather. Beautiful walks from the door, stunning views and friendly neighbour (she left a delicious cake on arrival)."

"Myself and a friend stayed here to use as a base for the Braemar Gathering, it was the perfect size for us and only an hours journey from the games. It was very easy to find espcially if you follow the directions provided once you get into Banchory. There is a private parking space that goes with the apartment and immediately behind you is a set of stairs with a metal gate at the bottom which you go up, turn left and its the next lot of stairs to your immediate right (30 steps in total). The apartment was lovely and clean, it had everything we could need and the beds were so comfortable. The owner called up to see if there were any problems, we had a minor issue with the heaters which he sorted over the phone and could not have been any more helpful. There is a Morrisons superstore 2minutes down the road and a full high street in the other direction with pubs/shops etc.. the location is brilliant. I would definately stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends."

"Had a very enjoyable stay at the property, it had everything you require for your stay including kitchen essentials ( washing up liquid, dish cloths, kitchen roll, salt & pepper sugar hand soaps etc ) the only thing I was disappointed with was the cleanliness of the kitchen surfaces, the kettle and toaster had a layer of greasy dust on them also the canisters on the work top, the hob and oven front weren't clean and the oven gloves were dirty with dried on food. I understand that it is no more than day to day use from previous guests but when you are paying a good sum of money to stay in a property I would expect a little more attention to detail. The rest of the property was very clean and comfortable and the nearby town of Banchory had all the amenities you could want, overall a very nice holiday."

"The S77027 is a fantastic place to stay. We stayed with our 3 young children and were delighted to have a high hair, stair gates, travel cot, cot bedding and some children’s toys and books all supplied, as well as ample garden space and a swing set. The house sits in a field on it’s own, so it is peaceful and has lovely views. All the rooms are spacious and the whole house in beautifully done out and is spotless from top to bottom. The owner was very helpful with a couple of requests we had and always responded promptly. We spent the week doing family activities in both the city and shire and found this was a great place to base ourselves. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the house to anyone, not just families."

"It is ideal for a three-generation family get-together. Very difficult to find, as the satnav was confused by the roadworks on the A90, which seemed to change daily. Well equipped, with good toiletries and towels. Nice welcome pack in fridge: prosecco, biscuits, chocolate and butter. Cot and high chair were supplied and a lovely baby towel. Kitchen well equipped, but lacked a small pan. We would have appreciated a weeks supply of dishwasher and washing machine tablets, and we had to buy a bottle of rinse-aid, which we left as we were flying home. Some bedside lamps had blown, and there were not enough bulbs to replace them all. It would be useful to have details of local shops, as we only found the Co-op in Balmedie on our last day!"
