"Lovely place to stay. Very clean with everything you need for your holiday. I had a bit of an accident whilst at Bewl Water and unfortunately, it did have an impact on our 3 day short break as I had to spend a day at the Conquest hospital A&E followed by an appointment at East Grinstead the following day (fractured eye socket) but Jenny (owner) was amazing and turned up with a couple of bottles of wine to soften the blow. We would definitely return to stay at S81028 as it's in a really good location for getting around and about and the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome (toiletries, milk, biscuits, tea and coffee etc). It's only about 10 mins drive to Bodiam Castle, not far from Bewl Water (although mind the tree roots!), a short drive from Hastings and not far at all from Battle. Yes, we will definitely be returning."

"Wonderful accommodation in every way. From the warm, friendly greeting to our regret at leaving - we enjoyed every moment of our stay. S13833 is well equipped and spotlessly clean, and is located in a delightful part of the East Sussex countryside. The charm is enhanced by the friendly goats (we loved Gemma), the ponies and the comical pigs. Not forgetting the many pheasants that amused us too! Cynthia is the best of hosts - charming as well as a superb cook. Her kindness in making a gluten free chocolate cake for us was only surpassed by our delight in eating it. 10 out of 10 for that cake! (Not forgetting the other goodies - the apple juice, eggs and marmalade). And a choice of two delightful, outside seating areas to enjoy a cafetiere of coffee ... perfect. Thank you for making our stay truly memorable."

"S42451 is a fabulous property in a stunning location and picturesque area and we were lucky enough to have the fabulous May Bank Holiday sunshine. However, please be warned the comings and goings of a young family with 4 boys and 2 dogs intruded on our privacy and tranquillity. The front door of the property opens directly onto a gravel drive. When cars come up the drive the noise is incredible. (In good weather the door needs to be open to get some air flow)Neither the paddock or the garden are secure. Coupled with the fact that the single track lane, directly in front of the property, was surprisingly busy meant that dogs had to be very closely supervised at all times. We hope this review is helpful to those for whom the points we have made would have been a problem."

"We had a lovely short break at this cottage. It was particularly well equipped and we appreciated plenty of homely touches - thick curtains to keep out the light, mirrors, sockets, hooks and storage in all the places you’d want them.Worked well for our family - my husband and I, a 6 year old and a 1 year old - new travel cot and high chair helpfully provided.Nice days out in Hastings, Camber Sands and several NT properties nearby. We were surprised to be able to book a short break during Easter hols and at a great price. We didn’t get round to using it but there was a DVD player so not sure why this was mentioned in a previous review."

"Lovely barn in idyllic rural location. The property was spotlessly clean, attractive & well-equipped. The bedrooms are not large but perfectly serviceable. We particularly enjoyed the balcony outside the sitting room/kitchen which overlooks the friendly goats & small lake. The garden is very well fenced for dogs or small children & has a good seating area. The walks from the barn are excellent & peaceful and the helpful owners are on hand next door should you need anything. They generously provided a welcome pack with their own eggs & homemade apple juice & cakes. We would definitely return on another occasion."
