"Ideal property for a couple not too far from Pwllheli but a car is essential. Car parking outside cottage a bonus but could do with weeding... too many thistles.Rear patio area could also do with tidying up. Enjoyed feeding the birds... and sat a few evenings watching them.Nice bottle of wine waiting in fridge. Bed very comfortable and had good nights sleep but too big for the room...catch legs when you go round to the other side. Many a stubbed toe!!!!The bathroom.... sink far too big for the small space and the shower door doesn't open up enough to allow easy entry... a larger busted lady as I am... bruised myself badly getting in and out... really does need redesigning. Also think there's a problem with the plumbing from the kitchen sink as when my hubby was having a shower and I had washed the pots the waste water came into shower cubicle up from the plug hole.Overall Penlon is placed to visit many places on the Llyn Peninsula in an ideal spot and should we travel to Wales again would consider a return visit."

"The location of this terrace was ideal for our purposes, it being centrally located in the Snowdonia National Park area. The accommodation is situated by the slate quarry and close to the mountain bike and zip wire centre and is a short drive into town. It is possible to walk into town, but there is not a great deal to see or do in Blaenau Ffestiniog and it is a hike back up hill on the A470. By way of feedback points for the owner: the fridge is too small, we were a party of four so required more space for prepared food. Additionally, the electric shower was either scalding hot or too cold. The sofas were a bit tired and not that comfortable. These are minor points and did not affect our stay adversely."

"Whilst the cottage was small it is adequate for two people. The shower was very poor not much pressure at all. The seating wasn’t very comfortable but the bed was very comfy. The welcome pack was lovely and the log burner and wood supplied would be lovely in the winter. We took a very small dog with us and she struggled with the steps down to the back garden as these were quite big. The cottage is surrounded by other cottages which is very deceiving from the photos on the website. The WiFi was very poor and there was no router in the property. We also noticed there were no central heating controls so assuming during the winter this must be controlled from the owners house which is adjoining."

"A pleasant, warm, clean and well presented cottage in a good location to explore the local area, especially Snowdon and zip world/ bounce below.Positives :Beds comfortable, nice linen and towelsLog burner Large kitchen and bathroom, plentry of storage and space. No problem parking, even though it’s on the street outside. NegativesOdd collection of kitchen equipment, no large mugs, baking tray didn’t fit in the oven.Sofas need replacing as leather is peeling off.The lounge needs a lamp or better lighting as not really cosy, despite the log burnerDifficulty getting In Front door, key sticksAll in all would return and an ideal location. More of a 3 * than 4 * cottage but still a very nice short break"

"No hesitation in recommending Ty Gwyn to others. Everything we needed for our week was provided and it was very cosy and quiet, we stayed in mid Sept. and the heating was more than adequate. We very much appreciated being able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy a drink and the view after a day spent exploring the Lleyn, it was also fantastic to use in the darkness of the late evening and admire the stars on a clear night, no light pollution whatsoever. Karen, the host was attentive and helpful at all times. The location is such that you do need to use a car to explore the surrounding hills, coast and beaches as well as shopping for any needs."
