What our customers are saying about our Swimming Pool Self Catering Holidays In Tenby.

" We have just returned from a break away at The Smithy with our 3 year old daughter and my parents. All of us had the perfect break away and the cottage exceeded our expectations. It was so cosy and comfortable, it had everything we could have needed in it and it was very clean and modern (especially the bathroom). The grounds were perfect for our daughter, she loved the play area and the crazy golf. We couldn’t believe it when we looked in the cupboard in the cottage and found golf clubs/balls, buckets and spades, footballs etc. The swimming pool was really warm which surprised us for the time of year we were there, the changing rooms were also warm and clean and the showers were hot. While we were there we visited Tenby and Saundersfoot Beaches which were both really beautiful. We also went to Dinosaur park and Folly farm. These were fantastic places to go with a 3 year old. Everything was no more than a 20 minute drive from the cottage which made our stay even better as we had traveled from Yorkshire and didn’t want to spend the week in the car. There was loads of other attractions near to the cottage that we didn’t get time to do. We would never have been bored! We went to the garden centre across the road from Ivy Towers and had a lovely lunch there. We also went to the Sun Inn village pub and had a fantastic tea one evening. We would recommend both of these places to anyone staying in the smithy. I cannot believe we found such a beautiful cottage in such a brilliant location. I only wish we lived closer so we could visit it annually without having to do a 6/7 hour journey. "

"The Smithy was in a wonderful location and was very well equipped - literally every utensil/bowl we wondered about whilst preparing meals was in the kitchen somewhere! A welcome gift of wine and biscuits were very much appreciated. There was a shower in place of the advertised bath which was very nice indeed. The indoor pool proved popular with my granddaughter as did the play area and crazy golf. The views as you BBQ are stunning. The doors sat in the front garden outside the conservatory windows were not such a good view - we couldn't decide if they were from The Smithy or the cottage next door as they were in between both. However, we felt that they shouldn't have been left like that for guests to look out on - they were there when we arrived and were still there when we left! Even if they were from next door I would insist on them being moved if I owned The Smithy. With such a well-equipped cottage it was disappointing for it to let guests down in a couple of areas. Pillows were very poor - if we visited again it would be with our own pillows. The twin beds and single bed had very thin mattresses which were not conducive to a good nights sleep for adults. It may be OK for children as they are lighter but the description does not say they are beds for children so you would expect the mattresses to be comfortable enough for adults. The place mats in the dining area were very old and worn - why would you not renew such small items annually to uphold the quality of the cottage overall? Would we visit again? Yes, with, as previously stated, our own pillows coupled with foam mattress toppers!"

"We had great time at The Smithy over the New Year holidays! The communication from the owner (Norman) was fantastic. He explained everything the week before we set off and answered all the questions we had about the cottage even during the time we were there. The cottage itself was spot on. The accomodation was appointed to a very high standard, very clean and tidy and all the mod cons you need to just get on with enjoying your holiday. We have 3 children (5, 8, 9), and they were kept entertained by the massive amount of games, activities, and DVDs in the cottage when we needed a breather. In the complex the facilities were brilliant. The pool was large, warm and great fun for kids and grown ups. As there is loads to do on site; crazy golf, kids playground, football nets, small cardio gym, tennis court, table tennis room, the place never felt busy even though the majority of cottages had families staying. The vast majority of time we had the pool to ourselves!! The changing facilities were clean and tidy and the sauna had plenty of room and was mad hot (£1 = 15mins). The location of the cottage within the Pembrokeshire coast region was perfect for us. A short car journey to Tenby, Saundersfoot (Kookaba - great for food - make sure you book), Angle bay (remote but spectacular), Carew Castle ruins (lovely walk), Pembroke Castle (a must see!). All in all this was a great base to see all that South Wales has to offer and from a place that you could return to and relax with ease!"

"We have just had a lovely week away staying in The Smithy. On arrival the house was warm and welcoming, with not only tea, coffee and milk in the fridge, but also an Easter Egg and a nice bottle of wine on the side! The Smithy is cosy but clean, comfortable and very well equipped - iron, DVDs, games, tennis rackets etc. The highlight for the children was the pool which is warm and well maintained. The children's outdoor play equipment looks fairly new and, together with plenty of space to run around, amused them well when the weather was kind enough for them to play out. The grounds of the holiday village were well maintained. There are many things to do in the local area, and after a week we felt we had only scratched the surface of what was on offer. The coastline is beautiful and Folly Farm well worth a visit (although be aware that the fair ground rides are extra); the Heatherton World of Adventure also went down well. Food at the local Parsonnage Inn was delicious, but best to book as we were lucky to get a table. This week has definitely gone down as one of our most successful holidays; the children are begging to visit again!"
