"This is a stunning little cottage very clean and the owners are very nice and very helpful. I am loathed to give any negatives but there are one or two that have to be mentioned. Firstly we have cottage holidays in the UK two or three times over a year and this cottage is expensive for its size in comparison to the cottages we rent in England and Wales at the same time of the season. It is a studio cottage rental but the best has been made out of the space available. The cottage is situated behind the owners house in the back garden and it is not really for anyone that has mobility problems. The chairs give little support and there is no couch due to space availability. On a positive note, the kitchen and bathroom facilities are good although the kitchen has limited work surface areas, but, plenty of utensils if you are cooking your own food. This is a very warm cottage if you venture out in the low season. Good television reception and the Wi Fi is fine This property would be good if you like to play Golf with Turnberry ten minutes away or if you like walking. Nearby historical sites are Culzean Castle and better still if you take photographs is Dunure Castle which is awesome. Then a fairly short drive to Alloway for the Robert Burns experience. There is a grocery store just a short distance away which has almost everything you could want including what I suspect to be the biggest selection of flavoured crisps in the UK, never knew the flavours existed. I like to fish for trout and there are quite a few waters available with just a short drive. All in all we enjoyed the visit, I would not return due to my personal health problems, I simply just need a bit more space and I would not rent a studio accommodation again knowing what I know now. But for all you healthy couples out there, this is a good rental and well worth a visit !!"

"Absolutely amazing!Just wow!Beautiful lodge set in beautiful surroundings. The lodge had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with pans, utensils and crockery. The only thing it didn’t have was oven trays, but I had taken my own so this wasn’t and issue. The bathrooms were spotless. Both had an amazing power shower, and heated towel rails. Each bedroom had a wardrobe and drawers with more than enough storage for all your things. There was a large cupboard in the hall, with a maiden (clothes horse) iron and hoover. The pool was lovely, as was the sauna. We walked over the play area to the golf club, but we didn’t go inside. The coffee bar area does sell a limited selection of alcoholic drinks (it didn’t state that on the website) There was wine, bottled beer and I think gin and tonic in a can. There are no spirits on optics. This was a pleasant surprise. The bar area had a lovely fire, was cozy and overlooked the pool. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful! The lodges were only 20-30 mins away from Ayr which had a shopping centre. And on route to this was a Morrison’s. There was an Asda about 15 mins in the opposite direction. We will definitely be returning."

"After a few challenges in terms of arranging to get the keys the cottage itself was lovely and in a beautiful quiet location. Well equipped for cooking and a a good size shower though the cottage itself was a little dark without the lights on during the day. But the surroundings were stunning - even saw a young deer in the grounds. A few small things would have made it perfect - 1st the bed -made up as 2 singles - and the mattresses on both moved around making it uncomfortable to sleep on for the first 2 nights until we discovered they could be zipped together! The taps on the bathroom didn’t work properly but again were fixed . The only really thing missing was access to WiFi. Would recommend the Kirkmichael arms for delicious food"

"The Duck Pond Cottage was incredible! It was such an amazing location and it offered such a comfortable space for my wife and I. It was spacious enough for two people and it was fully stocked with everything we would need. It worked well as an operating base to see the rest of Scotland as well. We drove a great deal of the British Isle and kirkmichael served as a great place to do that. We are also some of the only guests to have stayed in the cottage from the United States so if you're in the states and you're thinking about taking a vacation to Scotland, be sure to give this location a shot. Cloncaird Castle is also really beautiful and walking the grounds is a peaceful and relaxing experience."
